Good analogy. Only this time the patriots are dressed in their pajamas and sitting on the sofa at home. What's being thrown overboard is ideas, not tea chests. But the ideas are lame and unworthy.

The first shot, heard 'round the world, has already been fired. They claim to be disciplined, the mightiest media army ever to take the field in the history of the world. They dismiss us as dull farmers, rebels and rabble, of no worth and limited talent.

They claim they will defeat us handily and drive us from the intellectual field of battle. The opposite is true. Our first great victory will be the downfall of Dan Rather. It'll be just like the first great victory of the American Revolution in the Battle of Saratoga.

General John Burgoyne ("Gentleman Johnny") was a man of limited talent but towering vanity. He attacked when he should not have, because he assumed that no mere Colonials could possibly defeat him. And in that arrogance lay the seeds of his defeat -- and ultimately the defeat of the entire British military establishment.

Parallels between Gentleman Johnny and Dan Rather are not coincidental, but instead are a very clear and objective lesson to anyone who has the perception to learn from experience.

P.S. The metaphysical death of Rather and possibly of the MSM following, are in my latest column -- first link below.

I've been comparing it to the Boston Tea Party for weeks.

I think the blogosphere is wonderful. It is the most refreshing thing to happen in many a generation.

In many ways it is the national equivalent of a town hall meeting. It is the true voice of democracy.

It is the most refreshing thing to happen in politics since the constitutional convention.

I don't even think the 527's are a bad thing, despite how many millions Soros has thrown at them. This is the first time that I know of that individuals instead of party's and party bosses have decided independently to take on an issue and a candidate.

The Swifties and the bloggers have proved that the truth will find a way.

That be me -- she says proudly! I do feel that's exactly what is happening and I'm proud to be even a small part of it... it's been a long time coming as we've had to sit back and listen to drivel we know isn't true and helpless to do anything more than write letters to the editor or the network station. There is Power in Numbers! I've always known it and finally it's being taped...

Thank you PunkinDog for a GREAT letter!

I prefer to call it a successful Peasant's Revolt.

Noun 1. Peasant's Revolt - a widespread rebellion in 1381 against poll taxes and other inequities that oppressed the poorer people of England; suppressed by Richard II
