The word "amateur" is not necessarily one anybody should be ashamed of. It's root comes from the french 'to love.' So, what an amateur is, really, is a person who does something for the love of doing it, and NOT for the money (which is what a professional is -- that is, one who does something for the money).

Which would you rather be -- one who does something for love, or a whore?

The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around and what do you see? Businessmen, Teachers, Lawyers, Carpenters...the very minds of the people we're trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system, and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so innerred, so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will that they will fight to protect it. Are you listening to me, Neo? Or were you looking at the woman in the red dress?

Excellent! You know, the idea that such salient points were made by somebody with the handle "Pukin Dog" just makes it that much more better. Of course, they might think that's some Russian name or something.

Have already posted to you regarding this terrific letter you composed to our enemy within-the old time press cabal that has so destroyed our faith in their news presentations because of the liberal, biased and distorted view they arrogantly pass on to people who trust them.

Wanted to post a note I wrote on another thread that relates to your remembrance of Walter Cronkite and the impact these liberal jerks have had on all of us!

I dispise what they have done by refusing to stand for jounalistic standards of ethical behavior-none of them leave their personal political beliefs at home!

Here is the post:

The extremely sad, even revolting outcome of their monopoly [ on news broadcasting] (thanks to the liberal breeding ground of the Columbia School of Broadcasting and colleges and universities in general) was the failure of the United States to win in Vietnam.

I never knew Walter Cronkite was a democrat, a liberal, a progressive as it were. Never even thought about such things.

Night after night I listened to him give the body bag count of Vietnam, and relate the horrors of the war, and the failure of our ability to fight it....I never knew until a FEW MONTHS AGO that we WON every single major offensive in Vietnam...that our precious troops, in the TET offensive had virtually WON that war at that time-with the Viet Cong losing over 50,000 fighters in a short few week period...

I DID NOT KNOW THIS BECAUSE THE MAJOR NETWORKS WERE BUSY BREAKING THE RESOLVE OF OUR NATION, CATERING TO THE ANTI_WAR FREAKS LIKE JOHN KERRY, AND LYING ABOUT OUR THE COURAGEOUS EFFORTS OF OUR TROOPS (whom they were dissing and dishonoring with every breath from their arrogant news speak.

MILLIONS DIED as a result of our giving up, they died in the killing fields of CAMOBODIA....and Lancey...the BOAT PEOPLE, oh my gosh, the fleeing from Vietnam at the end when we withdrew...the sadness....the DEATH!

Liberals stink.

And the major talking heads today are STILL TRYING to break our nation's resolve to win the war on terror, to STAY THE COURSE in IRAQ, to fund the war with the money required and to STAND BEHIND OUR PRESIDENT.

They want President Bush to be President 'Nixon'.

They believe in a peace that has everything cozy at home even as thousands, hundreds of thousands, and in Sudan, MILLIONS are slaughtered under the arm of tyrannical and mad leaders.

For me, that is not PEACE. If we cannot use this fabulous gift of freedom and spread this gift not only to help others receive this joyous and most important lifestyle, but to ENSURE a better, safer world in doing so...then WHAT ARE WE?

I DISPISE OUR MAINSTREAM PRESS, NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE DEMOCRATS, BUT BECAUSE THEY DO NOT LEAVE THEIR POLITICAL BELIEFS AT HOME WHEN THEY GO TO WORK.

Well said, Pukin Dog! I had a role, way back when, that helped launch this "internet revolution" (no, Al Gore wasn't there with us) -- back when Jim Rob was posting on Prodigy's Whitewater Bulletin Board. I thought then that "the genie was out of the bottle and it would never be shoved back in" -- that we viewers and readers would never again accept the MSM dictators thanks to this interactive medium. FreeRepublic is one of the very best manifestations of this phenomenon. I truly believe that this election will be remembered as the tipping point when the MSM totally lost its premier influence on the electorate. I wonder how long CBS News will even be in existance.

But, the thought controllers of the Radical Left haven't quite figured out how to handle this new way of communicating among the citizenry.

The Internet has taken away their control over "managing" the information allowed to be disseminated among voters, which allows citizens to choose truth over mis- and disinformation.

Watch out for Hillary to move to "regulate" Internet communications. The Liberal Establishment has to protect us from ourselves, you know. That's the only way they can hoard all the power unto themselves.

America's Founders would be absolutely delighted with the rapid communication of ideas allowed by technology. It fits in perfectly with their belief that if citizens were presented with the facts, they would choose truth over error. Liberty, they believed, depended upon an educated electorate.

Benjamin Franklin: ". . .printers are educated in the Belief, that when Men differ in Opinion, both Sides ought equally to have the Advantage of being heard by the Publick; and that when Truth and Error have fair Play, the former is always an overmatch for the latter...."
