What is the status of public discourse in this nation and where is it going? These questions we must ask ourselves. You don't have to look too far till you find stark evidence that shows the integrity of our national debate and the depth of our communication is fading quickly.
Entertainment and politics in the modern society of America has created a deadly mix and a blow to the integrity of our national debate. In this election cycle, think of the severe case of P. Diddy and his entourage crashing a Young Republicans meeting in New York City, shouting his shallow views through a megaphone and broadcasting it over MTV. Of course, all this MTV and Choose or Lose business is built on the history of the relationship between media and politics over the past 50 years. Nightly news from the Big Three can be credited with beginning this disastrous mix that some call "Infotainment."

These perceptions may apply to certain segments of America, but it is not true for most or certainly not all. At least not in my world. America is not just what you see on TV. These broad generalizations of any subject matter always bother me.
Me, you & Savage Nation.
I don't know what to make of the article. I posted it here for comments.
In times like these it helps to remember that there have always been times like these.
In the Jefferson vs. Adams campaign Jefferson was accused of being an athiest who would reduce Amerian women to prostitution. Madison was called a sickly midget. Rachel Jackson, wife of Andrew was called a harlot.
Abraham Lincoln was called a monkey, a skinned dog and was accused of being black- a serious charge when having just one proven black ancestor could get a person sold into slavery. In an attempt to strike at him his wife was accused of being a Southern spy.
Before the Civil War tempers ran so hot that one congressman beat another one senseless with his cane at the Capitol building. Woodrow Wilson was bitterly hated by Republicans. In an attempt to hurt Franklin (who didn't care anyway) Eleanor Roosevelt was called ugly in print. American politics has always been brutal and has always had elements of vulgarity and foolishness.
More like Pee Idiot
This guy has a massive ego and thinks that whatever he says is actually important. Of course no one ever says "NO" to him so he contiues in his illusions and delusion.
I believe garyhope was referring to the moron Sean Combs who prefers being known as P.Diddy, not Kyle.
I think you're right.
You got some growin up to do kid.
Thank you. Yes, I was reffering to the "moron" Sean Combs or P. Diddy Stupido.
