`Flip' remark doesn't fly
Boston Herald ^ | 9/11/04 | David R. Guarino

Looks like John Kerry's critics have a fan at ABC - the sports division, anyway.

Late in Thursday's nationally televised Patriots-Colts game in Foxboro, hosts Al Michaels and John Madden went political.

After an odd series of plays, including a retracted pass interference call and a Colts fumble, Michaels said, ``What a wacky series.'' Madden replied: ``This is what you'd call a flip-flop.''

To which Michaels said, ``You're in the right state for that.'' Kerry's campaign wasn't pleased.

``Hey, didn't they know the Pats game was in FoxBORO, not FoxNEWS?'' asked Michael Meehan, a Kerry senior adviser.

No wonder they're losing.

The idiot just reinforced his own questions on the candidate he is supposed to be defending.

Meehan's idea of saying something, even if it's stupid.

"no wonder their losing"

"Noticed that myself. The dems have no sense of humor. When was the last one you saw smile? I think it was clinton.

On a recent broadcast of a Yankees-Angels baseball game, Angels second-baseman Adam Kennedy made an excellent fielding play on a ground ball, diving to his left and throwing out the batter. Yankees' announcer Michael Kay noted that it was not surprising that a Kennedy can go to the left.

This certainly dispels the rumor that everyone involved with the Kerry campaign is a humorless twit.

I think Kerry and the dems should keep up the whinging at every tiny slight and continue calling Bush and Cheney disgusting un-American dangerous cowardly liars.

Well, should we imitate the Dems and say that this has the whiff of fascism? Say that the Dems' complaints are ushering in a chill wind of oppression?

I knew there was some reason I've always liked Al Michaels.

"'Hey, didn't they know the Pats game was in FoxBORO, not FoxNEWS?' asked Michael Meehan, a Kerry senior adviser."

This guy's a walking textbook example of something that seems to have slipped my mind.

Oh yea.

...a "dimwit."

A good description of Kerry's campaign.

Kerry would be a quarterback who continually fumbled and would make better passes at interns than wide receivers.

Not so much "still born" as a "partial birth abortion" campaign. With his legs dangling out of the sagging vagina of the "Womb to Tomb" Party, the new media is sucking his brains out. Not a pretty sight!

Al Michaels is a self-decribed conservative - don't know about Madden but it sounds like he's one of the good guys, too.

This is probably a question for Howie Carr, but do any Freepers know if Micheal Meehan is related to my congressman, Marty Osama bin Meehan and/or if Mary Beth Cahill is related to Mass. State Treasurer Timothy Cahill?

Cutting your teeth in the rotten borough of Mass. politics is not good training for the Majors (to mix more than one metaphor - hey it's early).
