The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Muslim group takes responsibility for 9-11: 'We are so sorry'

This September 11 marks the third unforgettable anniversary of the worst mass murder in American history.

After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism. Many Muslims, including religious leaders, and "intellectuals" blamed 9-11 on a Jewish conspiracy and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade Center on 9-11. Yet others blamed 9-11 on an American right wing conspiracy or the U.S. Government which allegedly wanted an excuse to invade Iraq and "steal" Iraqi oil.

I think the "GO" codes were given months ago. But it wouldn't surprise me if this was a "spare" as we used to designate it in the infantry to give a sort of prearranged signal questioning: WHY HAVE YOU NOT MOVED? sort of thing. IOW, another "go code" meant to reinforce???? More like GO, NOW!!!

Well, I hope they don't break their arm patting themselves on the back for I think that they are overstating their results by claiming that they 'predicted' the Sinai and Baghdad attacks. Their warning was generic and news sources even identified the temporal link between Zahwari and attacks. Now when they can pinpoint the location, then they are getting somewhere in the predictive realm. Just like the folks trying to predict earthquakes in CA, Of course one will hit, the golden ring is predicting when and where. But their work is worth monitoring none the less.

Saudi Arabia says foreigners face deportation if they eat, drink or smoke in public during daylight hours in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The country's interior ministry said foreigners who publicly break the Ramadan fast would be dismissed from their work and deported from the country. The ministry said non-Muslim residents must respect the feelings of Muslims by not publicly breaking the fast.

American authorities have shut down 20 independent media centres by seizing their British-based webservers.

On Thursday a court order was issued to Rackspace, an American-owned web hosting company in Uxbridge, Middlesex, forcing it to hand over two servers used by Indymedia, an international media network which covers of social justice issues and provides a "news-wire", to which its users contribute.

The websites affected by the seizure span 17 countries.

It is unclear why, or to where, the servers have been taken. The FBI, speaking to the French AFP, acknowledged that a subpoena had been issued but said this was at the request of Italian and Swiss authorities.

"It is not an FBI operation," said its spokesman, Joe Parris.

Rackspace told Indymedia that it had been served with a court order under the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty, under which countries assist each other in investigations such as international terrorism, kidnapping and money laundering

It is unclear why such a treaty would apply in this context. A UK Indymedia journalist said: "The authorities may just be using this as a trawling exercise. We don't know."

It is also unclear if the Home Office was involved.

The Metropolitan police said it was not aware of the move.

The UK Indymedia site is now working, because it was backed up on another server, unlike others which are still shut down.

One of the servers was to be used to stream web radio coverage of the European Social Forum conference in London next week.

Aidan White, the general secretary of the International Federation of Journalists, condemned the "intolerable and intrusive" action .

Tim Gopsill of the NUJ said: "If the security services of the UK or US can just walk in and take away a server, then there is no freedom of expression."

Have you ever undertaken any serious study of either world or American history? I teach both subjects and was a social studies Teacher of the Year. There is no such thing as "accidental history." History in nothing BUT an intricate series of interrelated conspiracies. Any serious study of the subjects reveals the truth. OTOH, those who take issue with that, also tend to have a certain.....ummmm rather narrow world view. Are you by chance an athiest?
