On September 11, 2001 our nation was attacked. Like many New Yorkers Steve Golding lost a friend in the World Trace Center attack. He created a flash video that became one of the most watched videos on the internet. I was webmaster for WABC radio host Steve Malzberg at the time and contacted Steve Golding to see if we could run the video from our website. It was the most requested video that we had on the site.

It is appropriate that on this anniversary I link to it again so that we can be reminded what this anniversary is all about. Why our friends, neighbors and relatives who serve in our armed forces are sacrificing their lives. It must also serve as a reminder why we must mnake the right choice on November 2, 2004. Too many of my fellow New Yorkers have forgotten or at least they have become complacent, thinking we can negotiate with evil. We cannot.

I am linking to the video so that we can remind ourselves of that day and also so that some newbies to this site who have never seen it may have the opportunity to view it.

After the attack and during the recovery a memorial light was put in place. Two powerful spotlights facing the sky where the towers stood. The following shots were taken by me from pier 58 in Brooklyn on April 13, 2002 one day before the lights were switched off. It was also my 50th birthday.

I agree with you, but I am bothered, not by you and most Freepers, I am bothered by all of the people that seem to have forgotten what happened a short 3 years ago.

I remember when I was young. All of my parents friends (as well as my parents) through all of the people my grandparents age remembered Pearl Harbor very well.

I am scratching my head trying to figure out how so many people today could have forgotten 9/11 3 years later when so many people back then remembered Pearl Harbor 20+ years later and many still remember it today.

We never hear anything about Ramzi Yousef's Iraq-connections. There were quite a few. The war in Iraq is first things second - payback for the first World Trade Center Bombing came second, after the cleanup in Afghanistan. And there are people who say we shouldn't even have gone in to Iraq. If the Mohammadmen try to
hit us again, I say we take Iran, and so on.

We made the mistake of not seeing what was in the terrorists' minds on 26 February 1993, until 9/11/01, and acting against that insanity 8.5 years too late.

I don't think they have really forgotten, but they have been made to feel guilty about our participation in the war. War is ugly and the media has played it up in a way that has seemed to take away the right we have to defend and protect. Good heavens! That is the ONLY true mandate our Federal Government has! That is what we seem to be forgetting.

You and I and the average person may have made that mistake.. but did the Clintons and folks like Jamie Gorelick make that mistake?.. or do they see America as the problem and deserving of these attacks. What was Jamie Gorelick doing with her "wall"? What did she know and when did she know it? Why was she insistent upon making it impossible for the people who protect to share information on these terrorists?

Even one of the 9/11 hijackers were already being tracked.. but they couldn't get thru the Gorelick "wall" fast enough to find him.

WHY?

What did Bill know?.. hillary?.. the Democrats who were in power at the time?

Why do they now claim Iraq isn't our problem?

Why do the same democrats insinuate George Bush, who was then Govenor of Texas, had the power to influence the President of the US, then Bill Clinton. Remember Clinton is on record saying Iraq had WMD and would use them on us. The Dems Claim this War in Iraq is all about greed and oil and lies of George Bush..

Well he must have had a stong- long arm back then.. Presidents do not take marching orders from Governors.

Liberals don't want a government that wages war. They want a "compassionate" and "sensitive" government that hands out goodies a la Kerry. This plays into the gender gap, since women by and large want a daddy government that provides milk, honey and security. Most people, and I dare say, even some here on FR, have never read the Constitution, the Declaration or the Federalist Papers. Unfortunately civics and political theory is lacking as a curriculum in most of our schools.
