We are apparently going to be treated to a truly delicious dish. It appears that Dan Rather and CBS News are going to try to blow their way through this by insisting that their documents are genuine.

This is so last century. They imagine that CBS News has a sufficiently large store of credibility with the public that they can make a lie come true by simply insisting that it is so.

I don't think they can. I think the blogosphere will eat their lunch. CBS News will be destroyed, by a force that CBS still holds in contempt. CBS hasn't a clue what it is up against.

Dan Rather probably imagines himself to be one-third (along with Tom and Peter) of the anointed "deciders of truth" in these United States. He probably figures that's good enough to blow his way through this.

But he is no such thing. He is one third of an aging, decrepit, and quite spent force. If he didn't 'get it' after a cable news channel beat him in the ratings during the RNC convention, then he isn't going to get it now. So he is going to go out there and put all his chips on these obviously forged documents, imagining that he is going to win simply because he is Dan Rather and he says so.

But he isn't going to win. He's going to lose all his chips. And CBS News is going to lose all theirs as well. They are going to come out of this disgraced.

By deciding to defend these documents, Dan Rather has moved from being duped, to being a collaborator in the lie. He has openly sided with those who hoped to smear the President and fool the people with a poorly done, amateurish hoax.

He is so screwed. And he doesn't even see it coming. I am going to love every minute of this.

You have succincly captured the "sickness" of libs like Dan Rather. It basically can be summed up by inflated egos and extremely low IQ's.

Dan, unfortunately (or fortunately), has positioned himself much like Jamaica.............in the path of a hurricane.

Dear Nick Danger,

How will we know that CBS news has been destroyed by the rapidly metastasizing internet rebellion against the MSM? For example, what headlines should look for in the newspapers? What TV news reports should we expect to see? Any specifics regarding the signs of the CBS downfall would be appreciated.

"He is so screwed. And he doesn't even see it coming. I am going to love every minute of this."

Nick. Did you catch the incredible analysis by Joel Klein (sp ?) on tv tonight on O'Reilly? . He was the rep for CBS and another guy was the rep for the Weekly Standard. After a few back and forths Klein ended up saying that the network news was G-d and the bloggers who were disputing the memos were "some guys in their pajamas in front of a computer".

THEY CAN'T STAND IT. THEY CAN'T STAND IT!.

Mine are blackguard plaid. Yours?
