An unidentified member of the audience pulls the hair of a demonstrator as he forces her out of an auditorium where President Bush (news - web sites) was addressing a crowd of supporters at Byers Choice in Colmar, Pa., Thursday Sept. 9, 2004. Bush's speech focused on the economy.
old news -posted yesterday. She should've smacked the old
fart.
If she was trying to get close to the POTUS, she's lucky it was just her hair that got pulled.
Just a follow up to the union goon who grabbed the guy at the Kerry campaign. You find this stuff at rallies all the time. Emotional people out of control.
OK, obviously when heckling, bring a buddy...
And when you stand, stand BACK TO BACK) with the buddy
That should resolve most problems.
Well I have a different take...I guess. Didn't we learn from past prez Klintoon that hair pulling a lip biting are 2 sure ways to dominate a woman?? These guys needed to get her out of there yesterday. Maybe this guy thought he was helping... And who says she has a hubby anyway??
Hmmmm... PING
I don't have to listen to a protesters crap whether a freeper or a homosexual activists.
I want to hear the person speaking, not their yammering.
Our society has become uncivil.
I doubt that guy is Secret Service, I am sure their tactical training doesn't include hair pulling. Probably some local GOP wannabe who thought it his place to act like a tough guy. No different than the union thugs the dems use. Just as stupid.
Certainly begs a question, no? Where did this "war protestor" learn her good manners? eh? In re tugging. He's not yanking on her hair. Considering how Dems handle similar matters, strikes me this "hair puller" is being "grandfatherly", IMHO. For all any of us know, his gentle "correction" may save this young woman from committing more offensive, uncivil acts in her future. As a mom, I hardly ever -- was a trapezious muscle(sp) light-pincher, and a very minor hair tugger; when mine were little. No intent to harm my children or embarass them whatsoever when in public situations -- but to get their attention, as to correcting their behavior. As my kids got older, all it took was a raised eyebrow from me. My kids didn't fear me, still don't. Dang! And they still, at their older ages, request I do my Ghengis Khan/Atilla the Hun impersonations for them. You'd think they'd grow up or something. lol.
Two wrongs don't make a right. But she deserved it anyhow. If I went to see Bush or Kerry (not hardly) speak thats who I want to hear. Not these loud mouths.
They claim it is a "she," but it's really a "he."
... and if it was a GOP "wannabe" who came to listen, was he supposed to move to the other side of the room just to permit this heckler to interrupt his listening, and goals? Or perhaps gotten on his cell and called the police to her her removed? Sported his "sheetmetal workers" shirt, and thrown her to the ground in a headlock?
Don't you have to club her head first?
This rises to the level of a War Crime. I would first ask: What did Bush know, and when did he know it. Also, I understand that the hair-puller is a Republican -- possibly with close ties to the Bush campaign. At this point, I would also like to mention that Operatives working for Mr Bush in Iraq (aka US military personnel) were putting panties on prisoners heads at Abu Ghraib. Seeing this poor woman's hair assaulted in this way almost causes me to have flash-backs to the horror inflicted on those Iraqi freedom fighters.
Yeah but, in all fairness she stuck her tongue out at him first.
I saw the whole thing and told mommy.
They used to say "Grab them by the ba11s, and their hearts and minds will follow". If it's a woman, you have to grab the hair!
The challenge you face when you take even mild action like this with a uninvited protestor is that the protestor can later claim harm (mental or otherwise) and bring a lawsuit against you and, thanks to liberal judges, win. Which is exactly what happened to a couple of conservatives I know in Oregon a number of years back. One of them lifted a protestor up by wrapping their arms around them from behind and walking them off-stage to keep them from dropping to the ground during a conservative political meeting. His actions were really quite tame.
Even so, not only did the Organization and the individual who did the "escorting" lose a damage claim against them, the head of the political organization ended up even having to serve time in jail for contempt of court for basically refusing to cough up a $30K or $40K judgement as I remember it.
Now, does anyone really question why Republicans have to close their meetings?
