A NUMBER OF EXPERTS have now weighed in on the inauthenticity of the documents CBS breathlessly revealed on 60 Minutes earlier this week--documents purportedly typed by the deceased commander of George W. Bush's Texas Air National Guard unit in 1972 and 1973, but actually produced on a personal computer using Microsoft Word. I predict--and here I'm going out on a limb 10-feet wide and only an inch off the ground--that it's only a matter of time before CBS admits it was deceived. If there's any honor and professional pride left in the CBS newsroom, they will then expose the party or parties who deceived them.

Buckhead - you're famous again. This time The Weekly Standard mentions you!
Well, that answers that question. This means that CBS will either not expose the parties responsible, or they'll commit fraud again and claim Karl Rove pulled a fast one on 'em.
Why aren't we all surprised at this? Because Kerry is slime, that's why!
didn't CBS do a hatch job on ford and the gas tank??? seems they had to eat crow on that one???
If the Killian memos were genuine, then SeeB.S. would rush to produce the actual documents for analysis and to identify the source to verify their validity.
I predict that they will do neither, and instead will follow their present course of insisting that we take the documents as valid on their face at CBS and Dan Rather's say-so.

I'm sure see-BS will blame it on their hatred for Bush
that made them blind and incompetent.

I was better at forging sick notes to my teacher in 5th grade than these moore-ons.
Looks like the clinton win-win ploy has worked. Bush get another 4 years (and has to deal with the WOT), and hillary gets the dem nomination in '08, hopefully after all the hard work is done by Bush.
Bias is human nature, this is true. But that does not mean that we must adopt lessor standards of ethics just because we sometimes fall prey to our worst qualities of human nature.
That was NBC and the Chevy truck's gas tank. SOS Though.....
NBC did a hatchet job on the Chevrolet pickup with the side gas tanks. They rigged it for maximum effect, and got caught.
Why did the premier news show in what was once reputed to be the premier television newsroom fall for such transparent fakes? Anyone old enough to have used a typewriter can look at them for a few minutes and figure out that they weren't typed on a typewriter in the early 1970s. A poster on FreeRepublic.com whose screen name is "Buckhead" was, to my knowledge, the first to do so at midnight Wednesday, shortly after CBS's scoop had aired. "Every single one of these memos to file is in a proportionally spaced font, probably Palatino or Times New Roman," this person wrote. "In 1972 people used typewriters for this sort of thing, and typewriters used monospaced fonts. . . . I am saying these documents are forgeries, run through a copier for 15 generations to make them look old."
It makes me wonder if Dan Rather "has something" that could damage the station, that he holds over their heads whenever the subject of his bias or incompetence comes up.
We already knew Dan Rather was a fool...now it looks like we're gonna find just how big of one...
I like it.
Reminds me of the old Disney-ABC "Dinosaurs" show. The lead character worked for the "WE-SAY-SO" corporation.....
Surprise, surprise! The media has pulled the wool over so many eyes, and they are looking like fools to so many that study them. See the documents yourself here -

This is a good analysis of the documents, as mainly a proportional font (Times Roman) is used instead of a non-proportional font (courier). Only word processors which came many years afterward can use a proportional font.

CBS's news (& 60 minutes of Trash) here is total media bias and misleading to the public

Even the slimeball CBS (Clinton Broadcasting Company) is looking into this atrocious journalism:
http://www.drudgereport.com/cbsd.htm
And consider who provided this information to CBS - they are all big time Kerry staff members, campaigners, and supporters. Slimeballs! And what's even worse, they are defaming someone who is dead! Someone who can't defend themselves! Be sure you tune into ABC's Nightline tonight, as Marjorie Connell, the widow of the late Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, the reported author of memos suggesting that Bush did not meet the standards for the Texas Air National Guard, questions whether the documents are real.
http://www.drudgereport.com/cbsd1.htm
The late Lt. Col. Killian's son is also questioning the legitimacy of the documents.

Ahhh, The information super highway.
Thanx again Al.
Looks like it's CBS's turn in the grinder.
