Time to call for the resignation of Rather, the 60 Minutes producer and the head of CBS News over this garbage. They have just been outed (again) as the frauds they truly are. As happy as I am to see them get egg on their face, I am disgusted by their blatant partisanship. Bush should demand an apology from McCauliffe (sp) and demand his resignation as well. Pigs..

I totally agree. But the DNC line is going to be something like, "While we regret the error that occurred with the so called documents it does not change the fact that the economy under George W. Bush is...blah blah blah"

Still, egg on the face is good for what it is. And I agree 100% that it is past time for Rather to resign. Bye Dan...you pompous lying sonofabit**.

"Bush should demand an apology from McCauliffe (sp) and demand his resignation as well."
----

Bush can come off great in this if he plays his cards right. The official reaction from the press secretary has to be something like:

"In the spirit of the Presidents direction for complete openess we immmediately passed on what we thought were real documents to the rest of the media. We assumed CBS would not have given us forged documents."

Then the pres should have surrogotes like his campagin manager and some Senators - maybe Cheney... dunno - light up these democrats that have been pandering these points. Head of RNC, forget his name, would be a good surrogote to give some harsh rhetoric to some of these people.

The President could just give a kurt one or 2 liner like, "I understand this is an election year and things like this happen. Personally I think the American people would like to talk about the future, and so would I".

I think if the Bush team played it right they could get a big PR boost and look graceful and aloof and still get their attack message in on these partisans.

Hope W blocks CBS from all press conferences and events until he receives his TELEVISED apology from Rather...

It would apparently be better for Bush and Pubbies in general if McAuliffe got an ironclad lifetime contract to head the Dems!

Somewhere over the past few days, I read Rather had been eager to run with this but Hewitt [the big guy] said no. It wasn't news. Now that the big guy was retired, Rather grabbed the ball and ran with it.

Problem was, he ran to the wrong goal post.
