Statement by Rep. Jim Nussle (R-IA)
George W. Bush ^ | September 9, 2004

Posted on 09/09/2004 6:46:17 PM PDT by RWR8189

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Jim Nussle (R-IA) today issued the following statement:

"John Kerry's baseless health care attacks don't have much credibility in the eyes of Iowa voters considering Kerry's opposition to the President's bill guaranteeing affordable prescription drugs for Iowa seniors and his vote against $25 billion in rural health care funding. President Bush is working to lower health care costs by creating Association Health Care plans enabling small businesses to pool together and pay less for health insurance, but John Kerry is standing in the way of making quality health care more affordable for all Iowans. Kerry's plan for a government-run health care program would only shift costs to the taxpayers while doing nothing to stop the medical liability lawsuits that cost Americans $108 billion each year. Iowa's working families aren't going to trust a candidate who would take decision-making power from doctors and patients and give it to bureaucrats in Washington, D.C."

Just had to repeat it. With the airtime that certain (idiot) elected officials from Iowa get, it is nice to note that we have at least some folks representing some of us (though unfortunately not my district) in DC with a brain.

My vote will be going to Stan Thompson in November. Not sure what the chances are, but I'm going to do my part at the ballot box at a minimum.

Cheers to hope!

Thompson YES!!!
Boswell NO!!!!
Boswell has voted just the opposite on most major issues that I've contacted him on...through ConservativeAlerts.com
Thompson was close last time if I remember right...and I hope Salier (spl?) gets a chance at Harkin next time around too....I think he'd have fared better than Ganske did.

Boswell typifies the rural Iowa democrat. Doesn't bother trying to figure out what is importat and is well trained to think that if the democrats say it, it is right. They would rather be bitter about the 80's than protect their hunting guns or stand up for the morals they teach their children.

Then you have DSM. Loaded with a bunch of liberal wannabees. But it is getting better. Us in the 'burbs are a pretty conservative bunch.

I hope Salier goes after either Harkin on Vilsack, but I think Gross will be going for the Gov's job. His recent activities and the PR they are getting is bumping up his name recognition a lot. I'd take either (preferably both) in those two posts. One thing I do know is that if Salier runs - his will be the first campaing (I'm a youngin) that I will volunteer very substantial time to.

We need people like Salier and Gross in office.

I'll keep looking, but haven't ran into anything yet.

Gross is getting a lot of radio time right now, possibly to build name recognition for a future race (my guess).

Anyway, sorry I couldn't help.

I would assume he is still working on it (early campaigning for something). If every good elected offical dropped out at a temporary setback we wouldn't have had Reagan along with many, many others.
