I fear an American child slaughter is planned (Minnesota)
opinion | 8 Sept 04 | FinalApproach29er

An excerpt from Steyn's latest has me suspicious that a slaughter of schoolkids is planned for America soon-maybe before the election.

Here is Steyn excerpt:

Could what happened in Beslan happen in the US? Two months ago, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported on a fellow called Mohamad Kamal Elzahabi, a suspected terrorist who'd fought with his fellow jihadi in Chechnya and somehow wound up in Minnesota, where he'd applied for licences to transport hazardous materials and drive school buses.

***

Now, what if some less suspicious "white-looking" Chechen, or female, or some local recruit(s) starts driving school bus and and shows for work up one day and rigs a bus full of kids with explosives? Background checks can be defeated with enough planning. I doubt the enemy will make the same mistake twice.

We are catching way too many suspects up here in Minneapolis. Wonder if this is happening in your city also?

Remember that guy 25 years ago or so that hijacked a school bus full of kids and buried it/them alive?

Can children be trained in self-defense/martial arts at school? They older ones I mean....
The physical education classes may be a good place.

Drop and cover for atomic attack.
Definitely did it in Cleveland schools in the 50s, I was in elementary grades then.

"Arm the teachers. I'd rather have a gun battle than a slaughter."

There was talk of that in Colorado after Columbine, of training and arming teachers and principals.

Yes, there was "talk" of it in the aftermath, but the anti's won out. GASP! Guns in schools? We can't have that! Arm the sheep? We can't have that!

Many schools won't let kids play dodgeball anymore because it's competitive and could hurt someone else. So? I don't know that they would ever offer this. I'm not sure. I have two elementary grade kids. Martial arts, at least in my house, are a paid privilege away from school.

I've thought of another "soft-target" for terrorists.
What if they coordinated a plan to attack many large churches in this country one Sunday. It would be extremely easy for them to do and unfortunately, they'd get a HUGE pat on the back from the Christian-hating left in the U.S.

What a mess we have.

Next attack, I suspect the screws will turn more, National ID's for starters.

Just damn.

A caller to Laura I's show this morning was talking about her own child's school in Colorado. The woman said that on driving her child to school, might have been yesterday, there was a large flatbed truck outside, with no cab, just parked on the school lot.

The woman went into the school and asked the office people what that was about. No one knew a thing, or even realized it was sitting out there.

Could have been anything in it.

But her point was, school administrations had better start waking up and paying attention.

These are our softest targets, and they are completely undefended.

Isn't Minnesota one of those northern states that hates the Boy Scouts, but adores having their own islamic jihadist boy indoctrination camps?

Not to mention the unbalanced bus driver who "took the kids on a ride" from Pennsylvania to D.C, two years ago, on a five hour frightful unauthorized field trip.

We are JUST AS BLIND ABOUT OUR SCHOOLS IN THE FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2004, AS WE WERE ABOUT OUR AIRLINES & AIRPORTS THE FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2001.

I recently started martial arts training in a style that is a realistic as it gets. I did so because in the event someone attacks me, I want to know that at least I have a fighting chance. I may not win or may not be Bruce Lee, but I want at least a fighting chance to save either myself, my loved ones, or an innocent stranger next to me about to get pummeled.

Inside of a few months, I have learned some great simple effective things. The course is taught by a Marine Corp. Major and NYC ex Detective.

www.attackproof.com - I suggest you look there because it will give you a good idea of what is going on.

Come on folks....the schools around my neck of the woods..have signs that say.."This is a gun free, drug free zone"....

So, that takes care of any guns & drugs coming around there.

I guess they need a bomb sign though...to be completely safe.

FRegards,

Yes. We did have drop and cover drills almost weekly during that period.

They are NOT an urban legend.

I lived in El Paso at the time, and we were located near the Army's Air Defense Center at Fort Bliss.

Many of my neighbors also built bomb shelters in their backyards and equipped them per Civil Defense instructions.

The threat of nuclear war was taken very seriously at the time.

In my opinion, we are in MUCH graver danger now than we were then.

Then they might get the holy war that they want.

If the Pope had any backbone, he'd call for another Crusade against these wild animals. We've turned our cheek a thousand times (1000 dead). Let's start pressuring Muslim governments more in public.

LoL

I'd love to see him announce from the Vatican a Crusade against a Billion Muslims. Times have changed for Christians, but not Mohammedans.
