Hurricane Ivan has become a Category 4 Hurricane again! Winds over 130 mph and gusts up to 160 currently. The models have shifted the last 36 hrs like never before. My fellow Floridians might not like the 8 pm model that has just come out:
Could you give me the website that you got this from? Thanks
I like the green track and for Ivan to die a death in the Atlantic.
I'll take green for fifty.
Most of the model sites on the web are terrible; either they are slow to update and show old models, they only show a few models, or they show way too many models (many of which are old, useless, and ignored by NHC) and don't label them.
I've created my own model site which I update when I can, but it's just a COMCAST personal site and I'm dubious if it could take the hits from a FR link.

im from CENTCOM (Tampa) so dont scream!!
Florida: The Clay Pigeons of the Atlantic!!!!!
sorry couldnt resist....
This one will either hit the panhandle or go further west than that (I pray)
And what does your model show for a route?
I don't have any models of my own; Just better plots of the existing models.
At the moment there's a spread from the Central GOM to the Bahamas, with FL in the middle.
Ivan def. going WNW now...the shift a bit more north has started:

Good Grief, folks............
Got through to my mother in law in Plantation on Sunday.(about 20 minutes away if you're familiar with the area. Lost power for a day, but other than that she seemed to think the area fared well.
Sigh, another weekend locked in a boarded up house..
Well if these models hold out the last of the state that has not been greatly affected by a hurricane (Dade didn't get much, either did the keys) will be toast.
Like I said, Florida is closed til further notice.
It was traveling WNW in order to nail Grenada, but the last few frames of that look due west to me.
Which model gave the most-accurate predictions for Frances?
That's pretty scary. I hope the danged thing peters out and heads into the Atlantic.
Hurricane forecasting is a very uncertain art.
The Cat4 Alert is really cute.
Hi, fv, here's info on Ivan -- let's see how it looks Thurs/Fri. Are you on Joe Brower's FL ping list?
