Tuesday September 07, 2004--The Rasmussen Reports Presidential Tracking Poll shows President George W. Bush with 47% of the vote and Senator John Kerry with 47%. The Tracking Poll is updated daily by noon Eastern.

Not to mention New Mexico.
I doubt Rasmussen can ever show more that 4% difference between the candidates.
I believe Rasmussen had Bush up over al-Gore 49-40 in his final numbers posted the day of the election in 2000. In his analysis he claimed there was no way Bush would lose the election and held a comfortable yet narrow lead in the electoral college.
You see polling doesn't do a real good job of predicting the people who vote twice, vote from the dead, vote from Federal Prisons etc.....so polling is a rather tricky thing when you have tricky GOTV efforts from the Democrat party.
He calls families of registered voters, but it is highly likely that someone's teenage son or daughter actually answers the survey. IOW, who knows?? Ras certainly doesn't!

BS. I have Bush at 275, Kerry at 223, and Toss ups at 40.
IIRC, by 7%.
I stopped paying attention to Rassmussen when I heard a writer for Salon.com talking on the radio about polls and polsters.
This writer did an expose' on the American media's obsession with polls and he listed reliable and unreliable polsters and polls in the story.
Rassmussen was listed as unreliable and there was all kind of statistics and data to back up the writers claim.
I watch Gallup and the battleground state polls to see where the EC stands.
The automated Prez poll I answered this summer sure didn't care who was at the other end! And the strange thing is, it came in on our phone here in Washington state, where we are not registered to vote! We vote in Arizona and are registered as Republicans there. They did not know ANYTHING about the household they were calling it seems.
Typical of your DU arse latching on to the most disputed, non-quoted poll in America, when Zogby, Newsweek, Time Magazine, and Gallup all have Bush leading. WE ALL KNOW WHO AND WHAT YOU ARE!! T R O L L ! ! !

It's OK RAS you just keep telling your self that. The election is a dead heat just like it was before the RNC, no bump for Bush.
Note: It's best to humor people in distress. It prevents suicides.
I keep hearing that but I don't remember any Rasmussen polls in 2002.
There aren't too many Republicans so too many Republicans can't be included. If time says Bush is up 11, he's probably up 22.
Kerry does not lead in OH, and cannot win OH.
WHY DO YOU KEEP LYING?
This race right now---right now is about 320 EVs for Bush.
Please quit lying.
This is a very good point... since Rasmussen is fully automated, he can't tell who is actually answering the poll. So here's a question: Who is most likely to pick up a ringing telephone in your house? My answer, in order of likelihood are:
1. My teenaged daughter
2. My wife
3. My 5-year old daughter
4. I just let it ring and let the answering machine get it
5. Me
Since other polls show Kerry ahead amongst Women and 18-22 year olds, there's a good likelihood that his polls are oversampling these demographics.
Rasmussen only polled the Kerry camp.
Rassmussen is a Jag-off.
Yes, rasmussen is wrong.

Make that Rasmussen is wrong yet again this presidential election.
Nice of you to show up and spread your doom and gloom theory. BTW, where were you when Bush was up by 4 points in this poll and 2 other polls had him up by 11.
The only person who seems to refer to this poll is Dick Morris. He is someone who analyzes each and every poll as the absolute truth. He must be confused by the collection out there now!
Anyone see Barney Frank's sister Ann Lewis talking about a one-point lead in the Gallup poll? Of course they all leap on any obscure stat that will help their (lost) cause!
