I Can't Take Gun To Debate With Me

Bush, in Missouri, defended his decision to go to war, saying "it was right for America and it's right for America now that Saddam Hussein is no longer in power."
In West Virginia, Cecil Roberts, president of the United Mine Workers of America, gave Kerry a rifle as a gift. Kerry, a self-described gun-owner and hunter, quipped: "I thank you for the gift, but I can't take it to the debate with me."

It is possible Kerry was trying to come up with a "manly-man" comment to impress the President of the National Rifle Association.
But the fact remains, this is soooo improper.
The dims and MSM will say we're making something out of nothing, but it is NO JOKING MATTER when you imply a gun and the president in the same sentence.
What was he trying to say?
JEEZ. He's either a real ULTRA-MAROON or he's unstable.
To: aft_lizard
Exactly..........this double standard is funny in a way, but it is dangerous in many other ways. It's dangerous because of the drive-by voters who don't really get alot of the real news. When the media blows up something a Republican does or says, there is always a chance that the uninformed are going to swallow the BULL!
The old media is America's most destructive and ruthless enemy!

Sorry.
President of the National Rifle Association = United Mine Workers of America.
I'm so flustered with this guy's statement that I can't type straight!

I think that it is astonishing and repugnant that airplanes are required to make emergency landings because someone writes a word on a food tray or a bathroom mirror, but the Democratic candidate, weapon in hand, is joking about shooting President Bush at a Presidential debate on national television.Your post is the best I've read in a long time.
I am quite worried that this kind of talk could influence a disturbed citizen to a very evil deed! Kerry should be skewered by the press for this.
I am interested to see what John Gibson and Brit Hume have to say about this, having in mind that Dan Blather and the rest of the scum liberal media will most likely not mention it at all! The round table with Mara Liason and Jaun Williams may be interesting too. These liberals are such disgusting hypocrites.

I think that Kerry is certifiably nuts, and it is starting to come out.I agree. I think he will end up in a rubber room.

We all know there are crazies out there who might think that "Kerry can't but maybe I can" -- I believe the President's Secret Service is going balistic over the "quip"Right on. Let's see what FoxNews has to say about this from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. I am quite angry about this! Kerry is unstable or plainly stupid to make a remark like this! Do you think anyone on the liberal media will treat this at all as it should be treated?

I just sent Rush an email containing Lurch's quote. Y'all might want to do the same.Thanks. This is serious and extremely foolish. Kerry certainly never should be anywhere near the presidency.

Let it be noted that crushkerry.com were the first ones to pluck this Kerry quote from obscurity, where it had been languishing all day yesterday.Congrats! I'm waiting to see if anyone on television speaks of this!

Yeah, right. Go to the site and see the other issues in which we scooped the national media by at least 3 weeks. Yesterday, the Boston Globe caught up to us.

You just don't make a statement like that with all the problems we've had re: the Washington Sniper and all the added protection for the President since 9/11... But WAIT! He was at that meeting back in the early 70's where they discussed the killing of certain senators..... Boy, what a dumb comment to make! Unreal! But, the MSM won't pick up on it.....Well said.

Who's to say that Kerry's thoughtless remark won't plant the same idea in some unhinged supporter? Remember too how the 'rats have cultivated an atmosphere of extreme hatred for the president...Right, I personally think that this is a dangerous thing to do in this atmosphere of blind, ignorant hatred. That was extremely stupid of Kerry, who has really little ability to read right from wrong. He's a dangerous IDIOT!

I hope that this comment brings more attention to his actions as a leader of VVAW, possibly the most treacherous and least explored part of Kerry's past.I hope so too, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

The Kerry campaign doesn't need anymore high power, former Clintonites, to oversee his campaign. What they really need is one adult to make sure nobody runs around with scissors!

"I thank you for the gift, but I can't take it to the debate with me." Kerry knows first hand that "shrapnel happens". (Well, not first hand, but first butt.)
If Old Media was fair and balanced, Kerry's statement would become another of his self-inflicted wounds.
