KUWAIT CITY, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Iraqi Human Rights Minister Bakhtiar Amin Monday said 262 mass graves have been found in Iraq containing remains of people killed by the ousted Baath regime.
Speaking upon his arrival in Kuwait to attend a meeting of countries with missing people in Iraq, Amin said Iraq's security situation prevented the government from searching for more mass graves and identifying the bodies.
"We are working on uncovering all the crimes of the former Iraqi regime including mass graves, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed inside and outside Iraq," Amin said.
He said the information would help convict ousted Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and his senior aides who will stand trial by a special Iraqi court.
He said the victims of Saddam's regime exceeded 1 million, but there was no accurate estimate.
Great point on the mass graves, Thanatos. And this is just a war for oil I suppose.
You've been paying attention. ;)
This is a fascinating story. And this war was supposed to be an unjust war?
In my opinion, George w. Bush will go down in history as having freed a civilization from a monster.
Maybe that is why the leftite liberals hate him so.
The truth hurts, huh. dimocrats????????
Kerry also says he would have gone to war in Iraq without any evidence of WMD.
But that all depends on what day you speak to him. Or which side of the bed he got up out of.
The more I read about Kerry and what he says, the more I pray that this man is never near the oval office. He isn't fit for Senator either. How did this man ever get elected to anything?
Has anyone seen this covered by the Alphabet channels yet? (I'm not surprised) Has George W. Bush' handlers issued a Press release about this yet? And if they haven't, WHY NOT???????
Correction---"HAVE THEY"???
From what I've observed so far about Iraq, a brutal dictatorship may be the only thing that can control these animals.
