BESLAN, Russia (CNN) -- Russian state-run television says the government has a man in custody who was part of the group responsible for the deadly school siege in Beslan.
The network showed footage of the man, whose name was not given, being heavily guarded by commando forces.
The suspect, who spoke on camera, proclaimed his innocence.
"Of course I pitied the children, I swear to Allah. I have children myself. I didn't shoot. I swear to Allah," he said. "I don't want to die. I swear to Allah, I want to live."

Very sad bump indeed. I'd avoided looking at any of them because I knew my heart would be torn from my chest and I'd cry my eyes out. I wasn't wrong. It's amazing though, how one minute a human being can be moved to tears, and the next minute, be taken over by rage and anger to the point where you personally want to kill this guy.

Check history. It is necessary to de-humanize your enemy so when you begin killing them with reckless abandon, it’s just like shooting beer cans off a fence post. Muslims, islamofacists, anyone that even looks toward Mecca once during the day have a toe over the line. The west won’t have to fire up the propaganda machine to accomplish the necessary de-humanizing. They are doing it for us.

Not only should the terrorist perps be executed, so should their terrorist accomplices in Russian prisons they were trying to free. After all, if they are dead, what's the point of trying this stunt again for their benefit?
This was not a SIEGE!
It makes it sound like the Russians were responsible for attacking a school.
Terrorists attacked the school and were using children in an attempt to extort the freedom of fellow terrorists.
A better name for this thing is "Terrorist attack" or maybe "threatened terror massacre."
The Russians may have been inept, incompetent and downright stupid but they were responders, not perpetrators.
