What I'm interested in is whether the Iranian government will still exist by the time they get their ICBM.

Oh, no, it's the Mini Borg.
I wonder if the YAL-1A ABL can be pointed up.

One of the threats of the future is going to be domination of the stratosphere.
We have got to be prepared to:
- knock out enemy satellites,
- protect our own satellites
- have sufficient redundancy in case we lose one or more satellites.

If I was President of the US, and I wanted to do something about all these little hellholes all over the world that wanted to lay their hands on a nuke, along with this one particular hellhole (hellhole "#1") that is months away from having a nuke, I'd probably have my intelligence people devote lots of resources to locating and setting up snares for plutonium smugglers and dealers in nuke-making equipment and know-how (China?) in the hopes of discouraging the various hellholes from reacting to some major event in the near future... and then order a fullscale attack on hellhole #1. That's if I was president. Tough job, no doubt about it.
Any way, I fear that next year will be rather eventful.

Here's hoping for a Mossad ground crew or launch control....
Here's hoping it never leaves the pad or comes down in Mecca

If I was a particularly good president, I would try to make contacts with dissenting groups in Iran and inform their brightest and best that events may soon overtake them, so they'd better be ready. No risk there, as the government of said hellhole would already be aware of the situation.

Iran intends to launch its first satellite into space in April 2005
and in separate news, the US will knock an Iranian satellite down in May of 2005....

Why not put a US geostationary satellite hovering over Mecca?
