Brinkley could himself set the record straight, he is the one who went through that library of JFKerry's records.
This little weasel is not going to skate free in his attempt to become a presidential historian. He was preening like a peacock last winter, telling the hero story.
It should be up to him to demand what the records say, or have his book reclassified as "pulp fiction".

If Kerry loses because it is proven that he embellished his war record and was awarded medals he didn't deserve, isn't that a bit like the feds nailing Al Capone on income tax evasion? That is, his role in Vietnam Veterans Against the War, smearing the Americans fighting in Viet Nam and acting as Western Union delivery boy for Hanoi's propaganda, should be a much bigger reason to deny him the Presidency.
Kerry was a commissioned officer. That and his own narcissism should have made him keenly aware of the details of various military decorations, how they are awarded, and what they mean. No way he didn't know that the "Combat V"
and the Silver Star did not go together.

This is how he should be introduced. I am suprised his Professor credentials have not been questioned. His biography must be one of the worst for an historian.

It is sad that the perception is that Kerry's medals are the cause of Kerry's political problems.
The real problem with Kerry is his actual Senate voting record. Zell Miller got it right, and many articles have been written about that since the other night. Kerry is probably the worst possible candidate that the Democrats could have nominated, but he does have the BS resume'.
Sounds like maybe Brinkley is suspecting that Kerry played him the way Malcolm X played Alex Haley, and he isn't too happy about it.

Brinkley has had access to Kerry navy service documents that others have not had. So, what does he know and when did he know it?
Brinckley's down a 180, but will sKerry sign a 180? Seems as though Brinckley wants to salvage some of sort of reputation as an honest scholar.
