Hey Tonk.

Just wanted to let the folks at the Canteen know that today was my birthday and I got to speak with my Coast Guard son, Mike, several times over the last few days, particularly today! He is doing great. He is in Tampa right now but is Ok and riding out the hurricane.

Thanks for all the postings with good information that you send and best wishes to all on this Labor Day weekend.

Prayers for those in Florida during the coming weeks.

I hope Brinkley goes down with Kerry.

What a sad legacy to his father's name.

Nice try. But it will be quashed somewhere along the bureacratic line.""

They cannot quash it on the internet. Free Republic and others prove that every day.

I know. But we're dealing with a large bureacratic government institution, so I am not optimistic.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

The Press will ignore anything negative brought out about Jean Kerrie.

The only ones who will ever know are the 20,000,000 of us who are Rush listeners and consumers of the ' New Media'. That leaves 250,000,000 unawares.

"Right now it's unclear. So we have to just wait to see what all this adds up to."<<

Have you ever noticed that a quick typo of unclear is nuclear?

That isn't what I understood.

Be that as it may, this was NOT
a routine replacement, which would
have been a COPY of what he lost.

Good post, Southack. I agree with you.

On top of Social Darwinism kicking in (with our herd being strong and their herd being weak), we've reached the point in time where *technology* has eroded the old monopolistic power of the news media. Just as the automobile ended the monopoly on transportation once held supreme by the railways and shipping companies, so too has the Internet, talk radio, and Fox News eroded the prime sources of news and information of the established print and broadcast news media.

These are powerful new trends, and there is no doubt that the new trends will dictate a new outcome for political and social discourse in our future. The old ways are doomed.

Bumpity, bump!

Is this really what we want? I mean do we want an official probe that knocks him out of the race and brings Hillary! in?

(no, not the Governator).

Oh heavens no. I might vote for a Dem is he was running. Course he is not able, one saving grace I guess.

Yeah, but if Hitlery is not on the ballot, how many will vote for "John Kerry" if he pulls out of the race because he's disgraced? This isn't like the cases where the Rats ran a widow for a corpse.

Sure it is. Only this time the Democrat presidential electors play the part of the Missouri governor. They just get together and announce before the election that they will vote for Hillary and a vote for Kerry equals a vote for Hillary and the Dims and MSM will go into orgasms. Any objections that they are violating state law will be in litigation long after Jan. 20 and we will have a "selected" President either way. And it may be the Dim's turn.

Hmmm...very interesting...and you call my statements foolish. You aren't well trained in logic, are you?

This isn't a question of logic, it is a matter of historical fact. The GOP has made a concerted effort to intimidate candidates from even touching the issue of illegal immigration. Consider how the GOP tried to marginalize Mr. Tancredo and he still won by a wide margin. If the Protect Arizona Now initiative passes (over the objections of the White House), you can watch that dam break wide open.

"This is Social Darwinism. The news media has so protected its own by covering for them in the press that over time its herd has grown weak. In the meantime, Republicans have been under attack for so long in and by the news media that the weak have been culled from our herd and only the strong remain on our side."

Outstanding concept, Southack. Thanks for offering it.
