Answering Kerry's questions
Washington Times ^ | September 1, 2004 | William Campenni

The recent actions by the swift boat veterans have triggered a vicious reaction by the Kerry campaign against the service of President Bush in the Air National Guard. To be candid, the Bush campaign has done a poor job in countering the attacks, thereby aiding their longevity.

While Mr. Bush has only offered praise for John Kerry's service to the country, Mr. Kerry has personally questioned Mr. Bush's dedicated service and specifically slandered all of those who have served in the Guard, equating it with fleeing to Canada.

This is what is driving me crazy. Our President needs to say, at each campaign stop, "Kerry needs only to open his military and medical records as I have done". Karl Rove, where are you?

This explains Clinton's finding something better to do than campaign for Kerry! Clinton fled to Europe!

Either that or he's waiting until it's too late to react. I expect a repeated smacking around of Kerry by the Bush team in the next few weeks. The Kerry team looks beated. Even the paid talking heads are showing fear in their eyes. The trick is to keep it there until the day after the election. The tide can turn in a heart beat under the right circumstances. The Bush Team needs to remember to never let go until the last dying quiver or you might get bitten.

Mr. Bush asked the military to provide all information on his National Guard service, this is about all he can do.

Kerry doesnt feel that his military record should be questioned , but he cant open his mouth without questioning Mr Bush's

I am sure someone in Kerry's campaign has told him that questions about his medals will not go away as long as he keeps questioning Bush's records, but obviously Kerry isnt smart enough to drop it and move on to something else.

Mr Bush has stayed above this sniping and I for one thank him for it. I certainly wouldnt my President crying, whining, and gnashing his teeth like Kerry. Mr, kerry has never produced his record and it is rumored he may not have to, The Pentagon will open it for him.

If Kerry had come clean to the SwiftVets, opened his records and put all the questions to rest, his attacks on Bush's National Guard service would need a response. As it is, they just come off as a nasty attempt to change the subject from Kerry's own military/protest record. Kerry has only himself to blame for the SwiftVet controversy and its duration. Bush is smart to keep his powder dry while Kerry continues to shoot holes in his own boat.

One of the BIG reasons that Kerry has tanked in the polls is because of the Swiftees killer ads!

You can bet the DemocRAT 'smear the Swiftees' campaign will be kicked up to a whole new level now.

Support for the Swiftees is crucial right now, so they can get these ads on the air on REGULAR TV in battleground states.

FReepers are key in getting the word out about the righteousness of the SBVFT by exposing Kerry's FRAUD.

These Swiftee window stickers get the word out to the driving public, display public support for the SBVFT, as well as displaying the website address!

Swiftee window sticker thread - get yours! Freep mail for details.

Kerry is caught between the old rock and the old hard place!
Rock = Fact, Swiftvets, POWs,etc.
Hard Place = Terayza

Hard Place says, John, what are all these rocks saying. Straighten these serfs out! I have seen your movies. Isn't that how you wooed me, with your movies and journals? C'mon John, tell them....I said that you were a REAL hero at our Convention.....John, John, DO IT !!!

.
Bush should stay out of the fray. Don't think he should praise Kerry, but don't get in the mud.

Check out the John F. Kerry Timeline. Email it to your friends.

CBS 60 Minutes tonight (Sep 5) is going to have a corrupt Texas politician named Ben Barnes who is going to claim he used his political influence to get Bush an appointment in the Texas Air Guard at the Bush family's request.
It will be interesting to see how 60 Minutes finesses this because Barnes has testified under oath in 1999 that he did NOT use any pressure to get Bush in the Guard.
Also, the commander of the unit back then, named Staudt, has testified that HE made the selections, no matter how many politicians called.
Barnes is on the Kerry campaign and is a big fund raiser.

I think the attacks appear petty and immature. Bush is talking about going down a path of liberty and freedom, a path towardsa the future, and Kerry is acting like a 4 year old, claiming the past isn't important, but seems to be in a past-tense quagmire, unable to tell us what he's going to do.

Zell Miller did a lot of damage to Kerry. The 9-11 relatives who spoke did a lot of damage to Kerry. The Swift Boat Vets for Truth did a lot of damage to Kerry. McCain, Guiliani, Laura Bush, Cheney, all did a lot of damage to Kerry. At least that's what I've picked up in a barbershop, grocery store and WalMart. The Reagan Democrats are going to help us on this election.

The Democrat Convention was morose and bland, and full of (now obvious) BS.

The Republican Convention was fun, and you came away feeling good about America. The future was addressed, along with 9-11, which has been an elephant in the room. I mean, Elliot Spitzer threatening the Republicans that they better not use 9-11 or else? Yeah, right, whatever. We don't need to be intimidated into not talking about this whole shift in our foreign policy, about a defining moment in President Bush's record. People need to remember what happened that day.

And regards to the "smear and fear" label, the level of projection by the Democrats is second to none, and blatant to most. The only people I see 'scared' of terrorism are the Dems. Most Americans I know are resolute and willing to help, even if just by support on election day, to win the war on terror, or at least beat them into a workable submission. But they're not scared. I worry about my kids, but I'm not scared. I feel very safe when it comes to President Bush being in office. I think he will be an asset to this fight we have to confront now.

Kerry's the one who scares me!

Sorry for the rambling.

/1/ When Bush applied for flight school, ANG units were being sent to VN.

/2/ When Kerry applied for Swift Boats, they were on safe coastal (non-riverine) duty.

/3/ Out of about 900 F-102s built, 260 crashed, killing abot 70 pilots. They were inherently dangerous to fly. They were more than 3 times more dangerous than today's fighters, on an accidents per hour basis. Dean Martin's son died flying an ANG jet. It was NOT safe duty flying interceptors during the Cold War!

We can only hope the Vietnam era National Guardsmen come out just like the Swifties in anger against the Kerry campaign slander against them as cowards and draft dodgers.

There are a LOT more Guardies than Swifties. Another miscalculation by Kerry's handlers.

Remember, over the term of the Vietnam War, 8.7 million served on active duty, of which 2.7 million served in Vietnam and surrounding waters and airspace. Thus 6 million never got near the theater of operations. This 69 percent of the active-duty force were sitting in missile silos, in submarines and ships, at airfields in England, at Army bases in Germany and on Coast Guard cutters in Alaska. Nobody questions their service. Another 2 million were in the Reserve forces, waiting for a call that for most did not come.

This information should be expressed more often. Kerry acts as if you weren't in the line of fire, you shouldn't be commander-in-chief.
