I tried to get Kerry supporters to respond to this report but it left them in silence. We should send copies to the Secy. of the Navy.

Simple physics/ logistics question(s) follows...

How much freeboard is there at the bow of a Swiftboat? Is it physically possible/plausible that someone can "one arm" a sopping wet sailor that height?

(In pics, it looks like it's about 5 feet at the bow.) http://www.swiftvets.com/images/swiftboat1.jpg

I don't believe Rassman did the paperwork on the after action report...and that is probably what convinced the brass to give Kerry the Star....

Rassman may have made a recommendation to someone...perhaps even in writing but I doubt the Navy would have an Army officer...who they probably never saw again after that day...

Stick around for a week or two and do the Navy's paperwork....

It was Lt (jg) John F Kerry who got himself assigned to write up the 'Kerrytales".....

that is how he pulled off getting the Navy to rubber stamp his heroism... Officers and gentlemen are expected to be truthful and honest above all else...and are taken for the most part at their word...

That was what the Navy found out to be their biggest mistake with Lt (jg) John F Kerry..and why his records read....... UNFIT FOR COMMAND

One other even more nefarious scenario...is that corrupt officers sometimes put each other in for unearned medals...sort of a quid pro quo....

imo

>>the same Del Sandusky who told CNN NewsNight on May 31, 2004 that "John, shot and bleeding, laid down and pulled up Rassmann by his belt."

I bet it would be funny if someone found a retired PCF boat
laid down on its deck and tried to pull up a man in the
water by his belt!

It could make a great swiftboat ad!

I think we already have PROOF that Del Sandusky is a LIAR
because the medical report shows Kerry got a BRUISE
on his arm, and a bruise does not bleed.

Didn't I read that Sandusky worked for the Sec. of the Navy at one time?

A good way to get an autopen signature,if so.

A major part of this story will eventually be how Kerry was able to game the system and go around the chain of command to, for instance, get a PH approved months later by someone else when his immediate superior had denied it to him and end up with an elaborate SS citation signed twelve years after the fact by a Secretary of the Navy who claims he never saw the paperwork and never approved it.........

I'm thinking this is all a fluke and staged so Kerry could get his marks and go home to build his political career.

Sen. Kerry's Bronze Star recommendation makes no mention of Sen. Kerry being under enemy small arms fire.

This is a lie and a Smear. This is all from rich Republicans from Texas, and these people have been discredited. John McCain has called this dishonest and dishonorable. Just go back to the Naval records, you'll see he won that bronze medal. We have a picture of it right here.

That says Vietnam War hero, so there!

" This is the same Del Sandusky who told CNN NewsNight on May 31, 2004 that "John, shot and bleeding, laid down and pulled up Rassmann by his belt."

The same Del Sandusky who on July 30 told Heather Nauert, who was subbing for John Gibson on " The Big Story :"

NAUERT : " His critics say that he actually re-enacted some scenes... some of this video we will see tonight."
" Is there anything about that, that makes you uncomfortable ?"

SANDUSKY :"..I was with John Kerry. We never had time to shoot home movies..
"I don't know of any-none of my boat crew knows anything about, you know-the whole idea is just beyond us."

Too bad Del didn't bother to read Charles Sennott's interview with Kerry in the Boston Globe in 1996.
Sennott spent 5 hours with Kerry watching his Super 8 to video movies from Vietnam.

" explaining how he returned later with his Super 8 mm hand held movie camera to record highlights of the mission."

" That's me right there. One of my crew was filming this."

" I'll show you where they shot from. See? That's the hole covered up with reeds."

From the article,Kerry admits they returned later to record and obviously re create highlights of his chasing and shooting the VC in the back.

The video shows 50 cals pounding the beach, machine gun fire, Kerry jumping off the boat and running into the jungle and returning with the rocket launcher held high in victory.

Doing their home version of Apocalypse Now , complete with the sound and fury should be something Del would remember.

Wonder if Del has also forgotten the footage " of soldiers dousing gasoline on huts in a small village and setting them on fire."

Or " Kerry in cutoffs shorts, working on his suntan next to a Viet Cong prisoner bound and blindfolded."

Wade Sanders was sent out last spring, by the Kerry campaign to trash the reputations of the SBVFT.
He called all of them " bitter drunks "
and " whining crybabies."
page 69 " Unfit For Command."

The freeboard on some of the swift boats was as low as 2 feet, because of the amount of firepower they had aboard.

Rassmann was not the heavyweight he is today.
He was 6 ' and 135 lbs at the time Kerry gave him a hand up.
"John Kerry,The Official Biography..." page 105

Rassmann got a Purple Heart for injuries sustained on March 13,1969.
But, according to Kerry's diary for March 13-as reported by Douglas Brinkley in American History magazine-
http://www.thehistorynet.com/ah/blkerryinvietnam/

Rassmann was not injured prior to his going into the river.
Unless Rassmann claimed he was injured while in the river.
