New York -- It was more than a shock to end up on the floor of Madison Square Garden, five rows from the president, with a protester on top of me -- and security guards struggling to contain her. But that happened Thursday night at the front of the California delegation section when -- in the middle of Bush's speech -- June Brashares, 40, of San Francisco, an activist with Code Pink, stood up on her chair and unfurled a banner that read, "Bush lies, people die."
Just minutes before, the blue-suited Brashares had been in the crunch of delegates and press in the aisle when former Gov. Pete Wilson graciously offered his seat with a prime sight line to President Bush. Brashares was wearing an alternate delegate pass, and I stepped aside to let her sit down.
It was 50 feet from the president and three rows behind Gerald Parsky, the chairman of the California delegation and chairman of the UC Board of Regents.
Brashares looked grateful and said her feet were killing her. During the speech, she started to stand up on her seat numerous times, holding onto cardboard signs of support for the president. She waved a tiny American flag...

I never heard what they can charge her with. Does anyone know?
feel the hate...
Ahhhh, the picture of tolerance.
People did die: Ba'ath party members and the Taliban. With a little luck, they'll keep dyin'.
Disturbing the peace?
Trespassing?
...ZOT! This little troll was tossed, but how did she get there in the first place; makes me worried about SS security around our POTUS

"This is the third day in a row that Code Pink has penetrated the convention,'' she said. "My question to President Bush is, if he can't secure his own convention, how can they bring security to their own nation?''
'Cuz we're not allowed to kill you like we kill the terrorists.
Kerry Lied Veterans Died!, I love how libs make up their snappy one liners to yell around, but yet can never back up their statements.
being a disrespectful moron?
These people are just me generation people who are throwing a temper tantrum because they can't have everything their way. They haven't accepted the way the constitution works. And they don't realize that they won't win over swing voters with their chosen method of trying.
Well, sure. There's that, too.
Hear - Hear - Darn good point. We need an 'A' and a 'B' season on these vermin.
Apparently they dressed nice and "borrowed" credentials from other delegates, who were implored not to loan/give them out.
But I think everyone was searched before entering MSG. Maybe they should have read all the signs/banners.
It's idiotic. Convention security revolved around keeping out weapons and explosives. Extending that to people with legitimate passes would have made for a very quiet four nights.
