WEST ALLIS, Wis. - President Bush (news - web sites) on Friday offered former President Bill Clinton (news - web sites), who faces heart bypass surgery, "best wishes for a swift and speedy recovery."
"He's is in our thoughts and prayers," Bush said at a campaign rally.
Bush offered his wishes while campaigning one day after accepting the presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention in New York. Clinton was hospitalized in New York after complaining of mild chest pain and shortness of breath.
Bush recently praised Clinton when the former president went to the White House for the unveiling of his official portrait. He lauded Clinton for his knowledge, compassion and "the forward-looking spirit that Americans like in a president."
It depends upon what the meaning of "boo" is.
Wow! They actually used the lie as their headline?!?
This has got to be exposed.
I pray some conservative commentator looks in at Free Republic once in a while throughout the day.
I wonder if anyone knows what the DU was saying when VP Cheny was in the hospital? I can almost bet it was not a get well soon conversation.....
Get 'em before they're taken down.

The President is dismantling the nutty Left's portrait of him as someone who runs around hating people. I loathe Clinton but I think the most fitting punishment for the miscreant's misdeeds is having him around.
I think the point is that no one booed. The associated press put that line in there.
Let's hope it gets more airplay than just around Free Republic.
Unfortunately it is Friday before a 3 day weekend and the conservative commentators are tired from covering the convention.
That one is really interesting. Someone at the Boston Globe went out of their way to add the 'Audience boos as' to the AP headline. Every other one I've seen more or less uses the AP feed, some use AP redirects so their stories are fed directly from the AP.
Two more:

Ok, the lie has hit enough other media outlets that we need to get somebody with influence to look into this faulty reporting.
This is ridiculous.
No, you can't blame Boston for it. This came from AP, as you can see from the links I've posted.
Of course, whether anyone actually edits, or posts articles without using judgment is something else again.
TO AP: I saw him announce this and there was NO booing!
And I saw the last thread.
Some thought they heard gasps..........
That could be............but there were no boos!
The media lies. and lies. and lies.
Amazingly, the San Francisco Chronicle AP release makes no mention of booing. Unless they haven't had time to post it yet.
I was at that rally and there were NO boos. I really really reallllllllllllly wanted to boo (as did a bunch of us, I think), but maturity reigned.
FReepers for truth!!!!!!!
The media makes me sick. Glad we caught this one.
