A man carries an injured child who escaped from a seized school in Beslan, North Ossetia, Friday, Sept. 3, 2004. Commandos stormed a school Friday in southern Russia where hundreds of hostages had been held for three days, sending hostage-takers and their captives fleeing in a scene of chaos amid explosions and gunfire. Most disrobed seeking relief from the stifling heat of being confined in a small area on a hot day with so many others; however, it is now being reported that a number of rapes by the terrorists did take place.
Neither has Fox News Channel. Instead they've had near-constant coverage of the big rain storm in Forida.
We better wake up quickly, for this could happen here.
I feel so badly for the Russian parents, teachers and Christians.
Just as Jihadists are traveling to Iraq to wreak havoc and and death and to thwart freedom.
They did? I recall lip service that faded after a day or so, at which time it was posited by many, including those within the few countries allied with us, that we deserved 9/11.
I don't know what excuse Fox News has. They had someone there, Dana Lewis, who I think is one of their reporters, who was right on the scene at the school, giving excellent reports.
He was giving lots of info on Friday, but that was that.
After Friday, I actually didn't see much of anything on Fox about this story.
Can't figure out why not, except apparently the hurricane is more important than the WOT.
I finally turned Fox off in disgust, and long before that had given up on the other networks.
Slobbo was right.
Maybe it's because if the truth was widespread, they fear revenge against Muslims would take place. Still, people need to know how extremely evil these Muslim terrorists are. It has happened here and could well happen again here if we do not take the necessary defensive steps like closing our borders to terrorists.
I am sure others here go to other message boards. I don't post here often, but I have been coming here for years. I am just devastated by what has happened in Breslan to the children. I looked at the pictures even though I really didn't want to. After awhile, I believe I looked at them just to be sure, even though I knew, that my children and grandchildren were not there. What unspeakable horror. I mentioned other message boards because of one I visit where a poster has spent an inordinate amount of time talking about the violence of Christianity and talking about educating ourselves regarding Islam. I would say, in my heart, several days ago, Islam sent the world a very clear message to all of us. No one is safe. Nothing is sacred.

That being said they were precious, innocent childred upon whom unspeakable cruelties were carried out for three days!
Where is the coverage by the MSM? People must know what evil we face!
The poster who is blaming Christianity for past evils is way, way out of touch. He needs to quit talking about the past and look at what is happening in the present tense.
The story never made the front page here in Ohio where I live. John Kerry was in Mansfield the day the story really broke. There are three pages of him and about an eighth of a column on page three about Breslan. This country has become complacent. The "it can't happen here" attitude can no longer be tolerated. I am sure the people of Russia will agree.
I agree. The country has become complacent again.
While the gigantic hurricane stalled off of Florida's coast for the 3 or so days is certainly huge and needs big coverage, it seemed almost surreal that an even more devastating tragedy, one that clearly impacts us all not just Floridians, would be so roundly ignored. I would expect so from the alphabet leftie editorials-instead-of-news bunch, but not Fox. C-span did cover a lot of it.
His own statements were highlighted, as were those of Condoleeza Rice. Nothing I added except bolding to answer several freeper's plea for Putin to sign on to Bush's super powerful anti-terrorist program. And I did so only to point out that it was Putin who was fighting these Muslem extremists long before Sept 11, and proclaiming that Saudi was an instigator while Condo Rice was kicking dirt on that claim.
" Why are so many of the children in a state of undress? "
Supposedly the children were not allowed to use the bathroom for days. I imagine their clothing was quite soiled. It sickens me further that in spite of extensive media coverage, they refuse to identify these animals as islamists.
You missed the whole point.
The original article being discussed never said there were Arabs or Islamofascists. That was the point.
Now we all know that it was true and was finally reported by everyone that this was true, but the paper skipped over this part at first.
What are you talking about?
There is no original article being discussed here, it's a photo vanity from another FReeper making a false assumption.
Try reading the comment with the original post:
These are just some of the images. The "militants" included arabs according to news reports. I saw a network news last night which stated the hostage situation was related to Russia's war in Chechneya -- nothing about Islamofascism or Islam at all.
This is a huge story that is not getting the coverage it merits.
And it is YOUR assuption that the original Freeper's assumption was false. I and many others agree that the press was trying to keep it quiet that these were Arab terrorists -- not Chechyan terrorists. The original poster was correct before the story changed.
