From what I've heard about Islam, people say, well, when the Moors took over Spain they built great libraries and that they invented algebra or something.

They didn't invent algebra; nor did they invent the "Arabic" numbering system. The Hindu Indians did, and the Arabs got it from them, ultimately bringing both to Europe.

That's one of the most depressing posts in this whole thread (#180.) While President Bush was chastising Russia for Chechnya, why was he adopting a "most intimate bed partners" relationship with Saudi Arabia - which has been *funding* the Chechnya terrorists' activities? How can someone be so *wrong* about the enemy?

I don't have the exact quote but just remember Michael Moore saying that we should not get worked up over terrorism because your odds of being attacked are very slim. I really hope he goes to these children and tells them the odds worked against them.

If I were queen for a day, Moore and John Kerry both would get to personally carry the bodies out of that school.

The media have borrowed the heavy detergent from the marketing department again. They start the news with disinformation, like how the Russians stormed the building, it was the reason for the deaths, blah, blah. Then at the end a few short blurbs say the "militants" started the ordeal. Fine print and junk mail at their finest. I reckon, most people never get to the truth.

Just saw some amazing film coverage of this shot by a British crew on the NBC evening news. Absolute pandemonium, in the words of the reporter.

The British journalist said that there were 10 dead terrorists-9 of whom were Arabs. It doesn't get any lower than this. When armed men and women take over a school and do this to children, you know that we've reached the absolute nadir. Even the Nazis didn't stoop to this.

It struck me as I was watching it that American schools must make very tempting targets for these demon-possessed ghouls.
