A man carries an injured child who escaped from a seized school in Beslan, North Ossetia, Friday, Sept. 3, 2004. Commandos stormed a school Friday in southern Russia where hundreds of hostages had been held for three days, sending hostage-takers and their captives fleeing in a scene of chaos amid explosions and gunfire. More than 100 children were wounded in the assault, some running from the building naked and covered in blood. (AP Photo/Ivan Sekretarev)

This is so horrific that there are just no words...just prayers. I truly fear that this may be a new terrorist trend. God help us all
The author is a former russian who moved to the US as a child, and he is a fellow FReeper...
bumping this again.......outraged as hell
BTTT!!!!!!
Ilyas Akhmadov does not sound like someone who would cohort with arabian militants. Maybe it's just me...
This disgusts me. These people deserve death.
Do you guys remember that heart wrenching photo, from the Oklahoma City bombing, of the fireman cradling the baby in his arms?
These photos bring the same emotion to life. How could anyone do such a thing to innocents?
May God have mercy on their souls.
This is obscene. What I really think should happen to the presstitutes can not be said without getting banned. I mean if I really said I think they should all be hung as traitors, someone might get mad. Just like if I said they will be the first targets of the next Civil War, someone might get mad. [OOppps.]
Are we going to wait until this happens in St. Louis? If we elect Kerry it will. Think about it.
Attempted Convention Distraction?
The first attack, ending a long relatively peaceful period, were two aircraft exploding simultaneusly, an unmistakable Al Qaeda trademark.
Another attack a few days later, nothing major, but just enough to keep attention focused on Russia.
Then the school attack overlapping the conclusion of the Convention in New York.
Why did the event end so suddenly?
Why didn't the terrorists allow the children to use the restroom or drink water? This will cause severe medical problems within 48 to 72 hours, and shortly thereafter, deprive the terrorists of hostages. Did they plan all along to execute the children on a pre-arranged schedule to coincide with the end of the Convention?
If the attack was intended to swing the Chechen election, why did the series of attacks continue after the election was over. Al Qeada plans these attacks months or years in advance.
If this is the case, the terrorists missed the mark completely, due to the vague priorities of the US media, who were only interested in the hurricane and the convention.
But it illustrates how far they arer willing to go to try and escape four more years of Bush's vendetta against them.
Obviously, we aren't going to be ready the first time it happens here. But what about the second?
By what methods and procedures will we begin to train our civilians to defend themselves, hand to hand or with weapons. How well will we train our own children in making war against those who would use them for their political agenda?
Will we be willing, not just in America, but across the globe to stop squabbling with the French or the Russians to unite against a common enemy?
Will we be willing to eliminate the human sea of camoflage the terrorists operate behind? To deport or inter Muslims, and to declare the remaining terrorists open targets, to declare that Islam is no lonmger a religion welcome outside of Islamic lands?
We hvae a binary solution set. One option is to endure what we just saw happen in Russia, over and over.
We won't be ready to make the other choice until we have seen even more attacks of this kind.
Death To All Terrorists!
Working on it:
Has GW denounced Russia's handling of Chechnya?
