“The former hostages are receiving therapy in mobile hospitals and clinics of Beslan and Vladikavkaz,” the source said.
Some 130 wounded people, including children, are in the Vladikavkaz clinic. The republican clinic has 38 patients, including five children, with the severest wounds and traumas, and the children’s clinic of Vladikavkaz has admitted 186 children.
Eighty adults are receiving therapy in the airmobile hospital, 200 in the medical emergency clinic, 32 in the republican clinic, two in the military hospital of Vladikavkaz, and four in the first town hospital of Vladikavkaz.
The town hospital of Beslan has admitted 98 adults, two were sent to the defense ministry hospital in Vladikavkaz, and one is in the Ardon town hospital.
“The majority of patients have bullet wounds in the back,” the sources said.
The storming of the school, was not prepared, the Russian president’s adviser Aslambek Aslakhanov told reporters on Friday. “We were getting ready for dialogue in order to avoid spilling blood,” he said.
Aslakhanov arrived in Beslan by air to take part in negotiation with the hostage takers.
According to Aslakhanov, “ the terrorists demanded the withdrawal of the troops from Chechnya and the release of all the people who had been arrested for attacking the security agencies of Ingushetia on June 22.”
Aslakhanov said seven to 30 terrorists had been in the captured school. There were representatives of various ethnic groups in the gang. It was fully international, he said.
The number of those killed in the Beslan hostage crisis may by far exceed 150," Aslakhanov said.
Seventy-nine victims of the hostage crisis were identified by 9:15 p.m. Moscow time, head of the Federal Security Service’s North Ossetian department and the crisis center Valery Andreyev said.
“Unfortunately, the death rate is mounting,” he said adding that the operation against the terrorists is going on.
Well the best help Bush can provide to Putin & should provide is to get tough with US "allies" like Qatar,UAE,Kuwait & Pakistan ,all of whom have been & still heavily involved in supporting the Chechen pigs.I don't see how Delta Force would have handled this situation any differently from the FSB ,albeit with their technical wizardry.The bottomline is the pigs were ready to kill those kids & blow themselves up-coordinating a precise operation against such an enemy is nigh on impossible.
Is there a best plan for people who shoot children in the back? These are the same type of people who strap bombs on kids and send them out to kill themselves and other innocent people. They don't play by any of the rules of humanity. So, assuming you have a lock on genius, what plan would you have recommended?

Yeah, I think the storming was not planned. The medics had brought in an ambulance for the kids and the Islamofascists went nuts and started killing the kids that were trying to escape. That is when the Russians decided to storm....

Actually, there are a lot of good teachers in the public schools. I've had to sit and observe a number of classes and I've been impressed (mostly). [Although I've seen awful ones too.] I wish your daughter the best. It's definitely hard work. I would just hate to be armed, though.

Children have to KNOW there are strong, trained adults in proximity to defend them against terrorists.
The only thing better would be to have national guard retirees and such, patrolling the halls and watching the egress points. In uniform, armed with automatic rifles, com gear and pistols.

Guns save lives. They are NOT dangerous at all. It's the people that wield them who can be.
The amount of gas that would incapacitate the terrorists would have killed ALL the children, especially as they were in a state of exhaustion and dehydration. That is why it could not be used in this case.
Well if you have any better suggestion's maybe you could give Putin a call, then why don't you also give some advice on the war on terror to the Bush Administration. It gets real easy when you don't have the presure of the situation sitting on top of you to see all the options and be a critic of what actions were taken. I don't think it is fair that you knock Putin on this... It is the same here.. The adage goes: "The terrorist only need to be right once, The defenders against terrorism need to be right 100% of the time."
The Russian need to deal with terrorism in the same way Isreal does, and so do we. If we negotiate like the French, philipinos, etc that is appeasing the terrorist. Would you perfer that everyone start appeasing terrorist, and then we have to live in fear, or have to combat the terrorism on our streets?
My Russian/ music teacher said they made the parents chose WHICH child they would rescue, had to leave the other one in. I am not sure at what point this happened. Islamo*turds.
