Give us a break- he was watching the Convention and his cocaine use is catching up with him.

No, I won't give you a break.

We have some responsibility not to act like the asshats on DU who wish George W. Bush dead. I'm not saying that we should forget that Clinton was a bad President. I am saying that we shouldn't forget that he was President.

In other words, he could be a boob and a sonofabitch from time to time. But he wasn't Hitler. Let's try to remember that.

And deserving of our prayers.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Hank Gaithers? I thought it was Len Bias. But I stopped paying attention to b-ball years ago. In sports, it's so hard to keep track of who's a murderer, rapist, cokehead, steroid freak, vehicular homicider, and what ever the likes of Denny McLain were up to.

(Of course, there's the "Bad things/good people" angle, too)

Cocaine & Clinton was my first thought as well.

And, um, some STDs can cause heart damage too, can't they?

I just read the Drudge linked story and thought I would point out something that really surprised me within the article.

Clinton, 58, had a cancerous growth removed from his back shortly after leaving office in early 2001. It turned out to be basal cell carcinoma, the most treatable form of skin cancer. In 1996, he had had a precancerous lesion removed from his nose and a year before that had a benign cyst taken off his chest.

Other than that, Clinton has had the normal health problems that often accompany aging - periods of slightly elevated cholesterol and hearing loss - and an appetite for junk food. In 1997, he was fitted with hearing aids. He has also suffered from allergies.

That doesn't sound like a very health base-line for someone who is just 58. That sounds like someone who has spent too much time abusing their body over the years.

While I hope he has a speedy recovery, and have faith in modern medicine, it does make one stop to wonder what he has done with his body to have all these health problems.

Thank You for being one of the few honest people on this thread.

Hypocrisy is just as bad as hard-heartedness in my book. He's left too many victims in his path. I don't wish him the worst, but I save my tears for all the people this egomaniac has trampled.

I guess I'm just an imperfect Christian. Forgive me.

Hillary reminds me of Scott Peterson...
Spending hours on the phone with Amber
while his pregnant wife was missing....
Not TOO concerned.

AOL's headline said he complained of pain. If that's the criteria, I need a butt bypass every time I hear the word Clinton.

Taking my grandmother's advice into consideration, I won't say anything at all (further).

If this is correct, keeping it quiet for a few days was a very classy thing to do, because obviously it would have stepped all over the convention coverage. This may be the first time I have something that I can thank Clinton for doing.

Good post, MM. I have real doubts that the kerry campaign knew anything about this earlier, because no way do I believe 'they' would have stayed silent during our convention.

I agree, this is no time to refight the impeachment battle and the various other scandals about this guy.

from a purely political angle, if he were to pass away, his wife would use that as a political tool to advance her move on the white house - I hope the guy lives until he's 100.

Uhh, not sure. Could be if you're in Canada.

"Let's hope he makes it. Wellstone's funeral would be nothing compared to what they'll give us if X42 kicks the bucket." According to the press, he hasn't filed a plan for his funeral . So guess who would get to plan it? That's scary, disgusting. No problem ... one WM dumpster ...

He led this country down to the path of hell and bred the terrorism that we are fighting (or rather trying to catch up with) today.

There is a chance that he can learn from his trials, but if he doesn't, I'll not lie about how I feel about them.

I won't go out of my way to get personal, but the political is fair game.

This kind of comment is what I would expect from the people on Democratic underground....not from a Freeper. No matter what his politics are he is still a human being. Which is more than I can say for YOU

***This doesn't pass the smell test. ***

It certainly does not!!!

I'm trying my best to be a good Christian and pray for him and his family, but as you said nothing they've ever done has been without manipulation for their own gain. Guess I'll have to let God sort taht out!

FOX just said they'll have her comments to reporters in a few minutes. Wonder if we'll be able to read between the lines???

I will not wish him well and I will not cry if he dies.

Well, I wouldn't cry, but I would be a little saddened that someone's husband and father were taken from them.

If you can't even express that, then you, Ma'am, are certainly someone I would not consider a decent person.

But, ya know, maybe when YOU are sick, no one will wish you well, either.

"Actually, Bush, as the sitting president, would be the main speaker at the State Funeral for President Clinton, if Clinton were to slip the bounds of this mortal coil while Dubya was president. Kerry would only get to speak if the family wanted him to."

I wouldn't put it past McCauliff to try to talk Hillary into shutting Bush out. I HOPE she would have the sense not to listen. I know she has as little class as Teresa, but such a thing certainly wouldn't help her career. What if President Bush wins? (I think he will if we all get out there and vote, just pointing out how she might think through the wisdom of completely dissing the sitting president)

Tony Snow confirmed Clinton never released his medical records even though there was a hew and cry for them.

This sounds like medical treatments filtered through his Presidential office - not a history.

Look for screams for Kerry to release his medical records - this just became an issue (which kinda sucks).
