Conservative radio kingpin Rush Limbaugh, 53 who has announced his speration from wife Marta in early June, is dating CNN anchor Daryn Kagan, 41 a spokesman for Limbaugh has confirmed to us.
The two were spotted at a party Limbaugh co-hosted at a New York restaurant, where guests included VP Dick Cheney, NY Gov. George Pataki and Sen. Bill Frist.
The coupling came as a surprise to some friends who consider the Atlanta based Kagen as part of the liberal media axis and a feminist-but then again, opposites attract.
Kagen, who has been with CNN for 10 years, hosts 'CNN Live Today.'

Kay, I agree with you that Rush's behavior is not socially/morally consistant with a true conservative. I don't condone it, but it would not keep me from voting for Bush (one's behavior is totally unrealted to the other and I don't expect to see GW doing the same to Laura).
Stand up for morals, but separate people's behavior. (i.e., one bad apple does not spoil the whole bunch)
Although, it's funny how so many jumped on board with a "way to go Rush." It's no wonder our country's moral fiber is in the moral crapper, everyone is so quick to dismiss behavior like this as acceptable. I wonder if that had been Clinton that divorced Hillary and did that if we'd all be saying "way to go" or if we'd be using it as another chance to decry the moral short-comings of the liberal left????
I, for one, decry it either way. In the last year I have lost EXTREME amounts of respect for Rush...first the drug addiction, now this. Sure, I don't know all the details of his marriage, but I'd bet that he's not innocent and this is not something new.
He's caused more loss of credibility for conservatives than Clinton did for liberals, only because the left expects more of us because we always decry moral outrages.
Then, to date a liberal.....from CNN....while there are so many truly great women at Fox.....Wow.....
Wonder if she's the one he referenced last week about starting the story of the cross in the RNC podium?
I take it you never saw a picture of Marta.
Oh geeze!
Did you vote for Reagan in '80 and '84 despite his children, who are more morally reprehensible than the Bush daughters?
BTW, other than the announcement of the divorce (which I missed), has Rush even mentioned it on the show? He's gone so much, and I've been away alot this summer--I missed it completely.
VT,
I'd have to agree with you. Michael Reagan is definitely NOT his father. The Bush twins are essentially adults now. They are doing what many college kids do (even conservative ones).
Sometimes, no matter how hard you work to brainwash your kids into being clones of you, they turn out to be their own people ;o)
If they were behaving like this at 16, it might be a different story, but they are both "of age". Their parents are no longer responsible for their actions, and this is the age that young adults spread their wings and figure out who they are.
I've seen kids that are MUCH worse, even from the best Christian homes.
Agree.
I've listened to Rush since the day Clinton took office, even taped his show when I couldn't listen to it. I'm so disappointed in his hypocrisy & lack of apparent insight or humility. People would forgive him if he just admitted that he was wrong.
He blamed his addiction on getting hooked because of back pain. That doesn't wash. He was way-over-the-top using narcotics for the "rush" it gave him.
Obviously, he has other failures. He definitely has God-given talents but he is Adam's offspring, as are we all.
Former First Lady Barbara Bush said it best in 2000.
Back then during the election, Ron Reagan made some impertinent comments about GWB. Nancy Reagan apologized to Mrs. Bush. In response, Mrs. Bush laughed and said (paraphrase), "It's okay, we cannot control what our children do or say."
Conservatives are not always perfect.
But at least we strive to live more righteous and beneficial to society than those with no moral compass at all.
I understand your point.
My point is that the Bush twins were put up there by the campaign itself. The campaign apparently wrote their material or OK'd it. THAT is what is distressing.
Perhaps I just don't understand. I have never watched "Sex and the City". I received the distinct impression that the twins were telling us that sex is OK and not something that should be only done between married folks --- Grandma Barbara was old-fashioned to think that.
I know about Amy Carter, Ron & Maureen Reagan, etc. But it was widely known that they were criticizing their parents -- not supporting their parents by trying to appear "hip" and "sex"-knowing.
Agree.
I always thought she was gay.
However, it's clear from the rest of the speech that the gals love their parents (and grandparents). Moreover, I doubt the gals want their parents to be moral scumbags like Bill and Hillary Clinton.
And most importantly of all, even if the gals would prefer people like Bill and Hill for parents (which I seriously doubt), George and Laura Bush would tell them to go pound sand. In other words, George and Laura won't debase themselves just to please their bratty children.
I just hope you don't waste your vote because of some political machinations on behalf of Team Bush to reach out to other voters besides us socially conservative voters.
