Brinkley on Imus; Personal Attacks on Bush Predicted

Posted on 09/03/2004 7:47:07 AM PDT by Joann37

I haven't watched or listened to Don Imus for a while, but heard that he is no longer supporting Kerry (he is "undecided").

But today, he had Douglas Brinkley on, and Brinkley, of course, was naturally sympathetic to Kerry. But what was most disturbing was that Brinkley said the media would soon start going after the President with personal attacks (I'm paraphrasing), and that we could look forward to them soon. What's that about? Are they now all in collusion? And what is there to attack him with regarding his personal life? Don't we know everything about him already? And who cares? What does this have to do with his qualifications to be our President?

The RATS and the MSM are enraged that the swiftie story is resonating, and they are not getting any traction on any of their smear campaigns.

What they fail to grasp is that the former represents truth, and the latter represents lies.

Yep. who uses an old-fashioned stopwatch anymore? They only make them for nostalgia purposes, since digital stopwatches are more useful, more accurate, and cheaper. The stopwatch motif is thus a perfect analogue for the old media.

Hope your reputation was worth it, Brinkley.

If there was anything out there, you can bet Ma Richards would have found it and used it.

Big Anne would have sold all her grandchildren to get anything on Dubya. And yes, the Dems want the White House back so desperately, and a scary percentage of them really hate GWB.

Of course, Republicans really wanted Clinton out in 1996, but there's a real difference because Democrats play dirty far better than any other American political party. Still, it's hard to imagine anything on Dubya that they wouldn't have used by now, and fabricating something could backfire all over them.

Ok. Fine. But, you will note why this won't work...
You may have noticed I have a few flaws, too. People sometimes have to correct my English -- I knew I had a problem when Arnold Schwarzenegger started doing it. Some folks look at me and see a certain swagger, which in Texas is called "walking." Now and then I come across as a little too blunt -- and for that we can all thank the white-haired lady sitting right up there.
So, what are they going to talk about? His mis-speaks? His cockiness? His blountness?

Bush detonated several personal attacks on himself. This is a humility that most Americans find endearing

What then? The National Guard issue? Ok. Already handled and, just for arguements sake, in the "missing year", Bush accumulated 56 service points...only 50 service points are required to be considered satisfactory.

What then? He wasn't brave enough, wasn't heroic enough? Uh, ok....even President Bush says that.

What then? A DUI charge from 30 years ago? Been there, done that, won the last election.

What then? Bush has bad hair? Well, not according to the Wuhl grooming survey.

What then? He didn't have good grades at Yale? Well, no one wants to talk about it, but neither did Kerry. By virtue of the fact that 1) we haven't heard gobs and gobs about how "smart" Kerry is (like we did all through the 2000 election with Al "I flunked out of Divinity School" Gore) and 2) that he went to Boston College Law School, which isn't the best Law school in the northeastern portion of the country.

What then? Come on? I guess they will have to stick to the "misled the American people" line? Ok. Well, that has been refuted by the Senate panel, the 9/11 commission, common sense, Lord Butler's report, etc, etc., etc.

They got nothing. They got no programs. They got no plans, (not even the secret variety). They have no game.

What a great concept. There should be a cartoon somewhere featuring this.

Keep in mind that the networks (no cable viewers) are dead horses. People can get the news 24/7 and don't need the Dan Blathers, etc. to tell them what they heard and how they heard it. The Old Media have overestimaged themselves and their liberal bias has been exposed. My take on it, anyway.

Yes, it is going to start, I heard CNN last night before the speech bring up Barnes and you can bet that after 60mins we will hear a least a week of stories about barnes and National Guard. Kerry last night went after Cheney about Vietnam and Bush. Kinda like Zell, can't refute what he says, so he's a racist

:::Best Liberal DNC mouthpiece Voice:::

That no-good, drunken driving, awol, baby killing, war mongering, dumb, blood for oil spillin president needs to stop smearing John Kerry with his mean spirited Swift Boats. Why, I wasn't even there, but I know, it's seared in me, that Kerry is telling the truth and the 254 Swift Vets are all liars! Did I mention John Kerry was in Vietnam? I did? Well don't question us about it; you smear our patriotism.

End :::DNC mouthpiece voice:::

Brinkley was on MSNBC last night before Kerry's midnight insanity display, doing his best to try & prop Kerry up and sustain his own pathetic legacy.

Just like the NYT played six degrees of separation of the Swift Boats vets to the Bush Campaign. Are they going to play the one degree of separation of this Barnes fellow to the Kerry campaign? Inquiring minds want to know. Or is that news that the NYT deems not 'fit to print'.

Barnes was discredited years ago; of course, that doesn't matter to OM (old media). They have a job to do!

HOW DARE YOU QUESTION BEN BARNES' SERVICE IN SHARPSTOWN!

(Native Texans will get that)
