Prosecutors in the Peterson trial argued Thursday that Scott Peterson was worried about being caught -- and it affected where he went and how he got there.
Testimony revealed that undercover agents followed Scott Peterson as he used a rental car to drive to the Berkeley Marina in early January of 2003, just days after his wife Laci disappeared. The prosecution claims Peterson took his wife's body to the marina to dump it in the bay on Christmas Eve. The question for jurors Thursday was: why did Peterson use a rental car to check on the search? If he didn't kill his wife, why conceal his presence at the marina?......

REDWOOD CITY -- Followed by special agents from the state Department of Justice, Scott Peterson pulls his car to the shoulder of Highway 99 near Bakersfield, allowing the car trailing him to pass.
Inside the unmarked Ford Mustang trailing Peterson, undercover agent Tera Faris continues driving past Peterson, exits at the next off-ramp and pulls into a parking lot.
On Faris' radio, an agent's voice from another trailing vehicle says Peterson has followed her, using the same exit. A moment later, the radio voice says Peterson is turning into the same parking lot.......

REDWOOD CITY -- The day divers found an anchor instead of Laci Peterson's body in San Francisco Bay, her husband realized someone was tailing him and might have suspected a tracking device had been placed on a vehicle he used.
But after testimony at his murder trial Thursday from seven undercover agents, it was unclear whether Scott Peterson knew who had been following him.

Thank God, the Democratic and Republican conventions are over and we can go back to worrying about our real national question: Did Scott Peterson kill his wife?
Yes, while the fickle national press turned its attention elsewhere, the murder trial of Scott Peterson continued in California. Not even the fact that CNN's Larry King turned his face away for days at a time convinced those legal zealots to take a break.
