I happen to notice there was some mention of John Edwards and the Girl Scouts. I'm not sure what started that discussion but it made me think about the Scouts.
Now I know the dems hate the conservative cause so much there were reports Boy Scouts were harassed at the dem convention in 2002.
We also know that kerry was actually in Viet Nam and mentions it a time or thousand. Yes, both candidates served and Bush even was gratious to say that kerry's service was honorable.
So they both served and that issue should have died a long time ago, except kerry doesn't have anything else on his resume. Twenty years in the Senate with nothing to show for it is pretty pathetic. It would also help if he had shown up once in awhile instead of collecting a paycheck.
Which brings us to a service to our country that doesn't hand out paychecks just because someone mirrored an assassinated president. The Boy Scouts.
Could the candidates have the same integrity as an eleven year old entering an organization that changes the soap box derby child into the eighteen year old man ready for adulthood?
The Scout Law is twelve rules that each boy has to know.
Here are the rules and how I believe each candidate would obey them.
A Scout is:
Trustworthy - Bush by a landslide. Mister flip flopper couldn't be trusted to say what he means.
Loyal - Bush again. kerry dumps the first wife for the bigger score and I don't think I have to mention the Swifties.
Helpful - Bush again. It's that old "Tax and Spend" the dems can't seem to forget about. Giving somebody something doesn't help. They have to learn to earn it.
Friendly - I have to say this is a tossup. There really isn't anything friendlier than a used car salesman or a politician during an election.
Courteous - Perhaps Bush again. I saw those still pictures that showed kerry slamming into the little old lady when he ran to the Huey helicopter. If it was a video, I would like to think he apologized but there's no evidence of that. There's also no evidence he didn't.
Kind - I tried to give this one to kerry. Anyone locking lips with a hamster should get some kind of recognition. On the other hand, I don't kill birds for a photoshoot. There's also that pesky abortion issue. Bush again.
Obedient - Bush again. Hey, kerry! You're supposed to show up for work once in awhile. Do the job you're being paid for!
Cheerful - Tossup. There was that little to-do in Vegas with kerry and the missus but we don't know what started it.
Thrifty - A lot of people criticize Bush for spending our money like a drunken sailor. Isn't that what politicians do? On the other hand, you would think someone would know how to spend their own money. Bush again. kerry spends Taraazaa's money like a drunken sailor. Oops. I did say their own money, didn't I? Nope, no way can kerry can get this one. Bush again.
Brave - As much as I would love this one to go to Bush, I can't do it. It has to be a tossup between the two. Off set this one to mean kerry would toss himself on a live grenade if it furthered his career.
Clean - Bush looked like a mess when he was moving that wood brush at the ranch at Crawford. He does clean up nicely. Toss up.
Reverent - Bush. This one took a lot of thought. I was going to ignore the abortion issue and say it was a toss up. I can't do it. I know we can never know what's in the hearts of men but this one is a litmus test.
Open Letter to Sen. Kerry:
There is no correlation between what you did for four months in the 1960's and the job of President of the United States for the next four years.
There is no comparison between the leadership and responsibility, effectively executed by Vice-President Cheney, in his numerous roles in government over the last 20 years, and your tag along, ineffective role in the Senate during that same period.
There is no honor or integrity in your vacillating positions on any number of important issues.
There is no meaningful measure of your character, because you've never taken a consistent stand on any moral issues that don't involve the taking of an innocent human life, as you, yourself have admitted.
Senator, you can't lead if you don't know where you stand, BEFORE you look at the polls.
My service during the years you protested the U.S. and supported the enemy has earned me the right to express my opinions and observations, regarding your lack of qualifications for the office you seek.
We live to serve.
And may MOD have mercy on your account.
If by A$$ you mean smarter and not a human sheep like you, yes, I am an a$$.
Bush got his father to pull strings to get him into the Texas Guard after training. Kerry went ot veitnam, that's what I mean about AFTER training.
Like I said, active duty, reservists and guard, all go through the same training...so nothing gained by your grabbing in the air...
What are you talking about? They most certainly had live fire exercises, not to mention kick the c**p out of each other, lets gas em, and run till you die exercises.
WHen you "go over" to the enemy you weren't really there!
You have no proof that GW's daddy pulled any strings...
Kerry went into the reserves, who pulled those strings?
Your allegations are lock step with the dems at the DU, and you have the nerve to call me a sheep?
If you had a brain, you would be doing two things, taking it out and playing with it, or you would be dangerous...
We got a sleeper...alert the kitties...
Amen!
Typical, someone doesn't agree with you and you have to accuse them of being something other than an american... I have nothing to do with that pit of commie stench that is DU.
I hate kerry as much as bush.
You can't be that ignorant. Maybe deluded.
BS. The National Guard is serving, butthead. As far as "the entire topic should have been avoided", President Bush didn't bring it up. KERRY DID.
Go crawl back in the sewer, I don't have the temper to deal with you tonight.
You ARE ignorant, please list my postings to where I said you weren't American...
And if you didn't have anything to do with the DU, then you would look for the truth...You wouldn't be spewing out your hatred and lies about Bush. Your postings make it quite clear that you have no clue to what you are talking about. GW or our military. That leaves 2 things for me. you are too young to know, or too stubborn to learn the facts
Did your momma drop you in a big pile of stupid when you were a baby?
Here - you look like you could use a hot meal:
"-people don't shoot LIVE rounds at you during training./...... keep riding that dream horse buddy.-"
You are mistaken.I can give you first hand information on that. There is no mistaking a tracer round at night!
And don't tell me a Ground Burst simulator dropped in your bunker wouldn't make you change your shorts! :)
I've been in the military. I am in the Boy Scouts. One thing both organizations have in common. The quality of leaders is directly linked to the fact that it is all volunteer, and there are standards to meet.
