With Election Day little more than three months away, the technology department at the Democratic National Committee is hiring, and evidently their desire to staff up at such a late date has a lot to do with the success of their huge voter and donor tracking system. About three years ago, the DNC hired Plus Three, a small technology firm that specializes in IT consulting for nonprofit organizations, to help build its system. The decision came at a pivotal moment, not long before the 2002 midterm elections, when the Republican Party had had such a system up and running for some time.
The DNC, meanwhile, had a decrepit internal database running off an AS/400. It had a green-screen terminal interface, and it contained an e-mail donor list of just 70,000 people, said Doug Kelly, the DNC's technology director. "When you think that 50 million people voted for Gore, we did a dismal job."

Thanks...
Hmmm... I wonder if I can get a job heh heh heh
It's funny that they used all "Open Source" stuff, and it still cost millions upon millions of dollars, too.
Ha Ha!
Are they planning on voting in December? This might explain a lot.

What a sack of LIES!
The DNC has had an extremely sophisticated IT network stemming from the WhiteHouse from Hillary's theft of the FBI files, to their data center in Ohio that tracks all donor files, to the main data banks in the northern Communist China and other anti-American countries and organizations.......
in just this ONE little state of IOWA , the socialist-democrat-machine has the records of EACH and EVERY registered voter in the entire state! What makes you think there is LESS elsewhere?

The Iowa Democratic Party (search) has revolutionized grassroots campaigning in their state by compiling a massive computer database of 1.8 million voters so detailed that it allows candidates to target people based on their specific voting history and pet issues.
Armed with palm pilots, Iowa Democrats are busy this summer updating the voter database, the state party's most valuable asset.
"Our database is really state-of-the-art," said Gordon Fischer, chairman of the Iowa Democratic Party. "It contains voter files for every single registered voter in Iowa."
The database details not only voters' names, addresses and phone numbers but also key issues important to individual voters, when they voted, and who each voter supported in Iowa's presidential caucuses.
"All of them can be queried up at the click of a button and you can hit them with a mailing. You can call them. You can knock on their doors," said state party spokesman Mark Daley.
There's nothing decrepit about the AS/400 (AKA iSeries).
This is how the dems keep track of all the dead folks who vote so many times for the neocommunist candidates they run.
Offer some jobs to the unemployed. Buy some new computers. Do some more data entry. Send out some more snail mail.
LOL!
'Decrepit' in that sentence clearly refered to the database, not the AS/400.
It takes special technology to register the dead.
I know, I get touchy when someone dogs on my baby.
