My mother-n-law is also shortening.

Her doctor recommended a calcium supplement.

But Bush seems a little young for this. Donchathink?

I means that if you bet a dollar they were going to give you only 88 cents so your return would be 1.88. Now, they will give you only 69 cents for your dollar so your return is 1.69.

At a horsetrack, a favorite will will regularly go off at 2/1, so you payoff is $2 and your return $3 on your one dollar bet.

The oddsmakers try to keep from going broke when they have a real favorite in a race. They drive the payoff DOWN. They're saying that the president is such a favorite that they only want to risk 69cents for every dollar that you bet.

I don't care what the gamblers are saying, I don't think the President will be getting any shorter anytime soon.

Odds on Bush shortening

I keep finding spam in my e-mailbox, offering to provide me with special pills in the event that I find myself experiencing problems with unexpected "shortening."

I notice the stock market's also rebounded a bit lately. When Kerry looks good, it goes down. When Bush looks good, it goes up.

My mother-in-law 'shortened' so much I could rest my beer on her head. She became worried and asked my advice. I went right out and bought her a carton of Camels.(non-filters)

If Bush is shortening, does that mean that Kerry is lengthening?

Its been 5/6 in Londen for weeks. Now its dropped to 4/6 in the last few days.

If Kerry can't defend himself, how can he defend the USA?
