WABC was hyjacked by the bias wantabe's Sam Donaldson & etc>
Than 20 mins before Steve Malzberg was to come on the station went dead with a high pitch humm and than an asian program came on either Korean or Chinese?
It is 1:30 Am and still off!

Their transmitter is in
Lodi, New Jersey, across the river from Manhattan. My guess is there's something wrong with the link from their Manhattan studios to the transmitter.

"It's now #1 on 77 WABC"!! That used to be their jingle when I grew up in Jersey in the 60's, WABC was NYC's #1 rock station. In the early 70's Wolfman Jack was put on WNBC for a while to compete. But then FM took over. Go Frankie VALLI!! Semper Fidelis from Guam!!

I just spoke with a guy in the newsroom. They're off the air til 4am. It was apparently scheduled, but nobody told him! Sounded like I wasn't the first to make such a call. Anyway, all is well in WABC land.

Has to be some technical glitch. They are supposed to have a backup transmitter. I was just at the
New York radio boards and there is nothing there about what happened. Their transmitter antenna is located in Lodi, New Jersey. I suppose we will hear in the morning what happened.
