A teenager who allegedly beat a police officer unconscious during a protest outside Madison Square Garden was arrested at another demonstration in Union Square Tuesday.
Jamal Holiday, 19, was identified using a videotape of Monday night’s incident. As protestors clashed with police, Detective William Sample was pulled off his scooter and was repeatedly punched and kicked.
Sample has since been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Holiday is charged with second-degree assault on a police officer.
I could not believe my eyes the first time I saw it! There were lots of cops there, surely enough that this one cope could have detained the suspect until they determined what was going on.

The main stream press knows that you are protesting the war in Afghanistan even though the Taliban send Al Queda to attack this city, yet they refuse to mention it. In addition to jail for Jamal, Detective Sample needs to sue Jamal and the organization/association that brought this "gangsta" to the protest.
Real simple. Just make an ad with these people and their "Free Jamal" t-shirts followed by the videotape.

Nothing wrong about it. On a deeply personal level, I believe in an Eye for an Eye. It has little to do with the police vs. the civilian. It has to do with the individual.
This disgusting lunkhead beat the cop into unconciousness, and the cop should be given the opportunity to even up the score, but not to kill him (which would be excessive, as the cop still lives).
