Bush twins 'embarrass' parents. (video)

Posted on 09/01/2004 7:58:42 AM PDT by evets

Ha ha. Well, they said it, not me:

"Remember all those times when you're growing up and your parents embarrased you? Well, this is payback time on live t.v.!"

(I loved it and thought they we're funny. I'm sure that their family loved it too!)

It was corny teenage humor. It should not have been scheduled directly after Schwarzeneggar.

Amen. It came like 5 seconds after Arnold's rousing speech, and it did slow the momentum of it quite a bit. Would have been better to have that wrestling announcer let out a loud growl first.

Wow. Newsflash. They're normal.

Good interview.

"Look, the Bush twins were complete dorks up there last night. Their material and entire approach were off-base and inappropriate. This wasn't some MTV award presentation or a roast of their parents, this was a convention to nominate a President of the United States. And as a strong Bush supporter, I was very disappointed in their performance. Everything else in the convention has had such a touch of class and grace."

Ditto...They sounded and acted like two bimbos.

This "performance" not only insulted the intelligence of young voters, but was devoid of any dignity.

I can only assume whomever pre-approved this taseless debacle is an idiot.

The farts are out on this thread, too.

It was corny teenage humor. It should not have been scheduled directly after Schwarzenegger's.

I too thought it was a terrible blunder. And, being in their twenties, the twins should've left teenage humor behind.

This is the water cooler talk this morning. The twins blew it big time last night, national TV, millions of viewers.

They were great! Maybe everyone who didn't like them would have been pleased if they spoke about Iraq.

It was embarrassing. IMHO they had no place on that stage - just like Kerry's daughters shouldn't have been involved at the DNC.

That's what it reminded me of...the same type of "canned" speeches you see at an awards show. But I cut the girls some slack, they're 22 years old and not professional actors.

Considering the actors at the Emmys and Oscars don't do much better than the twins did, I won't complain.

BTW, I thought the hamster line was priceless!!!

Jenna has a full face but her body is slim. Guess some folks think she needs lipo to give her that gaunt appearance like Coulter, huh? ugh.

The girls were fine, they showed they are not political gnats, they are President and Laura Bush's daughter. It was so great to see REAL PEOPLE!

I just watched the intro for the first time. They're not comically gifted. So what?

I walked away from the TV and didn't bother to come back until halfway through Laura's speech. I was embarrassed for everyone there. Hopefully I was in the minority, or else quite a few people may have turned the channel for good and missed Laura's portion in its entirety.

If I were the Dean of Yale, I would be very embarrassed. This is what this "elite" school is graduating?

He should be probably more worried about John Kerry and soon-to-be graduate Thomas Frampton.

My son's fraternity and Star Fan's son's dorm mates thought they were both "hot!" My daughter's sorority thought they were cute and funny.

What some people don't realize on here is that their appearance was aimed at the 20's crowd. Spent almost three weeks around my daughter's sorority sister during Recruitement Workweek/Rush and for the most part they sounded just like the Bush girls.

That target audience for the most part from everyone I have heard from thought they did great -- the guys especially. Have one email from a CR that said his roommate has now decided to vote Bush because of his two daughters compared to the Kerry snobs. Said it spoke a lot about the family the Bush daughters came from and that is the type of person he wanted running this Country -- not some elitist Father from an elitist family!

It was stupid, embarrassing and made me a little sad.

That said, I still totally want them.
