Zell was a little bit angry sounding, and over the top in the "occupier versus liberator" theme, but he did deliver lots of good sound byte lines calculated to cut the arteries of the Dem party's evolution towards being a bit soft on confronting evil, sometimes more than a bit. It will of course help most in the South, but then Bush doesn't need much help there except in Florida, which is not "the South" where the swing voters are.
Thanks heavens Zell is a Dem. Only he could do this. Hopefully voters will understand that the anger is animiated by a man feeling betrayed by his party. A sense of betrayal fuels anger.
Most effective of course was what Zell and Cheney did in trashing Kerry's senate record, made all the more effective by Kerry failing to anticipate that in his convention, not mentioning that record, and thus leaving a vaccuum for the GOP to fill. And obviously most voters did not know much about the Kerry Senate record. Frankly I did not how truly execrable it was myself.
That's how I see it.

Dems have no new ideas; they are reactionary and cannot adapt to new concepts and new directions. You're right. So technically we are the liberals. (George Washington liberals mind you)

Matthews suitably chastised, it seems.

Wish it would last more than 5 minutes.

Zell Just told Matthews to shut up and get out of his face. Zell made him back down and talk to him with respect. The crowd cheered when he challenged Matthews.

Don't go wobbly, Howlin. This is beautiful. Chrissy just APOLOGIZED to Zell, kinda...

let him express his right to be angry someplace other then the convention to elect Bush - the guy is out of control now!

PUKIN!
God Bless you, Pukin! I have never had the pleasure of being on a live thread with you. I just want you to know that while I was in lurksville, you were instrumental in keeping me informed and upbeat (most especially during the 911 commission fiasco, Richard Clarke, etc.) I know you talk a tough line and I can see you know what you are talking about, but I also sense a real gentle soul.
And thank you for your service, sir!

I agree. Kerry isn't toast.
America Coming Together is busy registering as many as 20,000 new dem voters per state.
I hope we don't get caught napping.

Boy, Chris deserved it too. Long overdue.

To: rintense
You know why we love that, don't you? Because that is exactly what WE would say......which, of course, is why we aren't in the Senate.........LOL.
