Thanks heavens Zell is a Dem. Only he could do this. Hopefully voters will understand that the anger is animiated by a man feeling betrayed by his party. A sense of betrayal fuels anger.
Most effective of course was what Zell and Cheney did in trashing Kerry's senate record, made all the more effective by Kerry failing to anticipate that in his convention, not mentioning that record, and thus leaving a vaccuum for the GOP to fill. And obviously most voters did not know much about the Kerry Senate record. Frankly I did not how truly execrable it was myself.
That's how I see it.
I saw Zell's speech as cathartic... a needed release after this endless barage of attacks from Kerry, McAwful, Michael Moore, Howie Dean, etc....
Zell was playing to W Virginia voters, Joe Six Packs in Ohio and PA.... and the base...
Was he over the top? Hmmm.. maybe just a little.
Is there going to be a re-broadcast of his speech?
I've been busy getting my hurricane shutters ready.
