Kerry appearance at American Legion - live thread
self

Posted on 09/01/2004 4:46:34 AM PDT by rudy45

Sorry for starting this thread so early. Is this like calling "shotgun" three days before the trip starts LOL?

I was trying to find out the time that the Senator's speech will occur. I found nothing at the Legion website (www.legion.org), nor at the Kerry site, nor at CSPAN. When will the speech be given?

Anyway, here is a thread for people to post their comments.

"I was out today; tell me about the speech."

Besides talking about all he did for the vets when he came home, Kerry knocked the way Bush handled the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Not much applause on any of the issues. He was talking about health insurance, and college programs for returning vets. No pans of the audience on Fox News, which makes you wonder just how many folks were in the audience and how many actually applauded. I think the room was filled with alot of his campaign staff and the vets who travel with him. The camera was fixed on his head and shoulders, and there were no people standing behind him. He was totally cloaked in darkness, which made his hair look like it had been darkened.

John Glenn was with him. That's a copycat of Bush's appearance yesterday with McCain. He claimed he went to visit wounded troops at Walter Reed, but no one can find a story anywhere reporting that, so we don't know if it's true or not.

I Love this. Did you notice he started out with "When I am president" and ended with "IF I am president"?

Yeah! Great, someone else heard it, too. Sounds like he might not even vote for himself!

Bush appeared before some black organization about a month ago, not the NAACP, somewhere else. He gave a great speech, made some jokes, was received warmly and did pretty well. The upward trend in blacks and other ethnic people at the rnc is proof that they've realized they'd been taken for granted...treated as house slaves by the RATs. The black RAT base is eroding away fast, and somebody over there has noticed. Kerry will be claiming that Bush eats black children for breakfast or some such drivel.

What a clod he is to have broken the tradition of not campaigning during the other party's convention for this! A chance to use old vets he formerly trashed as props.

Maybe he knew it was going to be a tough crowd and that all the focus this week would be on the Convention; he could fulfill the invite to speak to them and hope nobody covered it. Might have been the best of a bad situation for him.

I wouldn't give him the time of day. He's so dreadfully boring when he enters a room he's like a cadaver. Kerry sucked up all the energy and expended a lot of time on BSh*tting his audience. No one cared and the worst insult was his being habitually late to an important event. I wouldn't hire someone like Kerry if he showed up an hour after the agreed interview time. Its like he doesn't respect people enough to want the job. Its all about what HE wants. The more people see of him, the less they like him.

Why am I a narcissist? I'm telling it like it is. I say it without joy. Dontcha think a lot of people who have never served take their cues from how Vets groups treat Kerry?

If he is treated like he is acceptbale, people assume that there is nothing to the "he dishonored his country" charge.

The problem with Kerry-- why we even face the prospect of him becoming CIC-- is because men like George Patton Jr. who said in 84 while campaigning against Kerry "They don't make strong enough soap to take the blood off his hands." That's why we are dealing with a disloyal guy in a dead heat with a good, honorable man. tahnt's why we are where we are.
Dr. Leston (Swiftee who treated Lurch for his first bogus wound)aptly use the famous quote, evil triumphs when good men do nothing. Well good men did nothing today and we would have been better off if they had.

Have faith in GW and his reelection team. Have faith in American common sense and goodness. GW is already hinting that he's seen poll numbers that tell him the election's in the bag. And Rush just said that the MSM is panicking, blaming Kerry's staff, his surrogates. Rush said Kerry would implode, and it's happening right before our eyes. So sit back and enjoy the show...Give a donation to the Swifties and/or the GOP, if you can. If not, make sure everyone you know votes for GW.

Patton Jr. wasn't heeded, that's why Kerry has the nomination of one of the two major parties during a time of war.

Since evil triumphs when good men do nothing, I am going to do something. I am going to hit abuse on you, because you are deliberately hijacking this thread.

I will also hit abuse on you this evening if you try it on the live convention thread.

Baloney. Remember RR's funeral and Kerry going to the front of the line, climbing over the tope and having his photographer take lots of pics? If he'd gone to Walter Reed, that photographer would have been there, snapping away. He never went, just talked about it and then went on vacation again.

I will and do and have.

I'm just asking, why are we in a dead heat with this guy? It shouldn't be that way, he's an unacceptable choice. How do we communicate that to people who never served when vets treat him like he is credible?
