Kerry appearance at American Legion - live thread
self

Posted on 09/01/2004 4:46:34 AM PDT by rudy45

Sorry for starting this thread so early. Is this like calling "shotgun" three days before the trip starts LOL?

I was trying to find out the time that the Senator's speech will occur. I found nothing at the Legion website (www.legion.org), nor at the Kerry site, nor at CSPAN. When will the speech be given?

Anyway, here is a thread for people to post their comments.

I would say the people he shook hands with were on the stage, to the side of him, not in front of him. That is the people that were not shown.

Kerry is also planning a midnight rally in Ohio just a couple of hours after the President's nomination speech. This guy has no class whatsoever.

No kidding. He is trying to steal the next day morning show coverage.

You're right, there was no rapport at all there, except from the people who he must have had planted.

A very small number in the audience were overly enthusiastic, to such a point that it was obvious.

Yes, whew, now back to his vacation.

I noticed that, up until that point it was "when" I am President.

The only time that he went to Walter Reed Hospital that I have read about is when he took flowers to Swift Boat Captain Peck and Peck ordered him out of the room. (Kerry was still in the RESERVES and "working" for an admiral after he had just come back...early...from Vietnam).

Has he been there since?

It's depressing. They have people so hardcore that they infiltrate the GOP Convention and accuse Cheney of making money as soldiers die. and we don't have any AL conventioneers that could give this bum the Bronx Cheer? That's upsetting.

Well, he won today. Given who he is and what's he done, should he have won? Absolutely NOT! The AL giving him a pass allows a generally uninformed swing voter to assume that the Swiftees are just GOP stooges and that he didn't do anything out of bounds. That's a very unfortunate thing, IMHO.

Keep in mind that democrats are allowed to join the American Legion and they have a right to their wrong opinion!

Camera is TIGHT on his face only and it is dark around his head. It is odd and I'm sure the Kerry Kamp demanded the camera not show full stage or audience in case of any sour looks or displays of dismay.

Kerry Kamp really has to carefully control his videos and photos to avoid showing small or irritated crowds.

I heard it was 80% republican. They didn't have any Republican or conservative Dem patriot who could call him out and wreck his phot op?

I distinctly remember POW/MIA families giving Bush 41 Hell in 92. Why is this guy getting a pass?

"The job will be done when there are no more homeless veterans on the streets of America..."

Well, senator, why don't you be useful (why haven't you been useful) for a change and do something about it...you've had plenty of time to atone....

Apparently you have lost your mind. Go lie down and maybe it will come back.

The AL is composed of people who are respectful and polite and its response to al Kerry is only that. I am sure the vast majority of them loathe this jerk. What you want is a response that none of that generation will give. It is like asking my mother to go on a cursing rampage.

He didn't win anything. This event is nothing in the overall scheme of things.

As others have tried to tell you, democrats are also members of the AL and Kerry has been taking his own people with him and planting them in his audiences. Heck, he even used the media to make it seem like a restaurant was full when no one else showed up.

It is not fair to hold the entire AL responsible for having a few dems in their group.

He definitely didn't win. He was nervous and it showed. His clear discomfort is a sign that we are winning.

Take that as a success and don't blame honorable veterans for the actions of a few.

When you think about it, what you are doing is similar to what Kerry did years ago.

Separate them. Please.
