Kerry appearance at American Legion - live thread
self

Posted on 09/01/2004 4:46:34 AM PDT by rudy45

Sorry for starting this thread so early. Is this like calling "shotgun" three days before the trip starts LOL?

I was trying to find out the time that the Senator's speech will occur. I found nothing at the Legion website (www.legion.org), nor at the Kerry site, nor at CSPAN. When will the speech be given?

Anyway, here is a thread for people to post their comments.

He doesn't have ANYONE backing him up like President Bush did. He had to have them in the audience to SOUND as if he is getting a great applause. What a PHONY!!!

Kerry is such a LIAR!!! I offer him the same words Cheney offered Leaky Leahy...

The applause is quiet but polite, and JFKerry seems to lack all energy or emotion.

I feel like he's given up. He seems to be full of despair.

Now invoking FDR. Kerry doesn't understand that jobs is not the main concern in a volunteer military. It is not the end of WWII or Korea or Vietnam. We are not rapidly demobilizing.

Didn't Hillary Clinton make that same claim that she visited WR, but had the cameras turned off and some of the staff even 'dismissed from the hallways', per her staff anyway.

Flash: There is no audience.

On the other live thread, FReeper rewrite reports that he actually works in the hotel where this speech is taking place. The room holds 5,000, and he says the applause sounds it's coming from maybe 100 people.

As for me, I hope the room is absolutely packed....

Now same old same old. Jobs, blah, blah, blah!

A few applause on outsourcing...hardly any depth to the applause.

Now whining about lack of health insurance & health coverage, also college education. So what did you do about it during your 19 years in the Senate John?

I can hear individual claps in the crowd. There can't be that many people.

We should rely on other countries for intelligence, but when they all say that Sadaam had WMDs, then Bush is just a liar.

If I didn't despise this guy so much, and have my adrenalin going now, I'd fall asleep.

His speaking style is more stultifying than Al Gore and Hilliary combined.

I'm not sure yet but he obviously isn't watching the same speech.

here is no audienceActually, he is standing at the back of the auditorium to save the audience the trouble of standing and turning their backs.

Does anyone have any idea how many people are in the audience?

WHY THE LONG FACE?

I believe that the look on his face has to do with the frustration of speaking to an empty room, devoid of all but people he travels with.

Stumbling over his words bigtime.

His face looks like he is 'pleading' with them.

Come on--I want to hear a Boo out of this audience

"...he has controlled the shot this time."

Heh, just caught a shot of the vets behind him. He is getting no where with this. Applause line on deficits falls like a rock.
