Kerry appearance at American Legion - live thread
self

Sorry for starting this thread so early. Is this like calling "shotgun" three days before the trip starts LOL?
I was trying to find out the time that the Senator's speech will occur. I found nothing at the Legion website (www.legion.org), nor at the Kerry site, nor at CSPAN. When will the speech be given?
Anyway, here is a thread for people to post their comments.

he's getting too much applause. They must have planted the audience.

Now he's promising goodies to vets.

So far he's not talking about himself. He's talking about the men and women who remained true to the cause and faithful to the oath they took when they entered the service.

So far, he is not talking about himself much. Good plan. Maybe he should start chanting, "FOUR MORE YEARS!" LOL

Rules for speech: no ballons, no confetti, keep the speech under 10 minutes (can do on the 1st two, but not the third)
Now giving propos to AL for what it does for veterans. To advance the ideals of America. Does not get strong applause to the money line ...
Camera shot is tight in on Kerry. No crowd shot.

He is receiving a nice welcome with applause. Yuck. I still say he has plants in there but we will never hear that from the media. He probably forbid any Bush-supporting Legion men.

I don't know why we call it the MSM, when there's nothing mainstream about it. We should call it the liberal media and leave it at that.
Just like we should call the demonstrators "Kerry supporters" (Newt and Laura Ingraham are spot on here).

They got away with Clinton a draft dodger.
They assume in their smug rightousness that the antiwar position is right, justifiable and all right thinking individuals hold this position. They loathe the military.
They are blinded by their faith in anti-US socialism. Kerry looked just fine to them.

Now he's promising goodies to vets. That's a no-brainer to get the Legion on your side.

Applause seems weak to me, and short lived.
He's using applause lines so far, generic stuff.
Hard to tell about the audience yet.

He tells them he's a fellow veteran who fought overseas.
Those who fight abroad should never have to fight for what they need over here.
(yes, he said that)
America says "thank you" to those who served.
They've clearly gotten friendlies in the audience. Speaks of his father in the Army Air Corps and he was born at an Army hospital.
