The latest European model -ECMWF- now tracks her to the GA coast. This is a major shift in this model since the last run. Of the five models I checked, ETA, AVN, MRF, ECMWF and UKMET, 3 put it near Melbourne, 2 put it up near GA/SC.
I am soooo glad I'm in the Midwest!

that is an AWESOME picture. I have family in the Melbourne area (actually near Vero, too....at Sebastian Inlet). I've e-mailed that picture around to them and other friends. Truly spectacular.
Prayers up!...for my family and others in the potential path.

This thing scares me. I have a bad feeling. The large eye and other things remind me of Hugo. I lived through that and don't want to go through another one.

Yes, but some of us Midwesterners were supposed to head to FLA for
a fun event this weekend. I'm sad because it's probably not going to happen, and I won't get to hear my husband's
past champion quartet sing. My kids are very disappointed - this was going to be a vacation for them.

How can something so beautiful be so deadly? ever see "Devil's Advocate"? (snicker....in it the "beautiful" friends that Charlize Theron hangs around are basically demons).
but you're right....it IS beautiful....but will destroy what/whoever it wants to.

Not from a hurricane area obviously, but get supplies and wait until it gets closer. Then listen to what Floridians urge...evacuations etc.

Another tip...something I learned during the Floyd evacuation.
I live near Savannah, and by the time we left most of the hotel rooms were taken by displaced Floridians and Georgians from further south. I had no problem finding a cabin in a state park though. They had several available. Apparantly no one thought to try them. I don't know how many state or national parks are in southern Florida, so it may not be an option; but I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention it.
