SUSPECT ARRESTED IN VICIOUS ATTACK ON COP
The New York Post ^ | 09/01/2004 | PATRICK GALLAHUE, ZACH HABERMAN and BILL SANDERSON

A suspect was arrested last night in the vicious beating of a cop at a protest Monday, a law-enforcement source said.

Jamal Holiday of Manhattan, who turns 20 today, will likely be spending his birthday in jail for assaulting Detective William Sample Jr., according to the source.

Sample, meanwhile, was on the mend at home.

The 10-year veteran who usually investigates taxi-business crimes, was badly bruised and suffered internal injuries in the attack that Mayor Bloomberg called "outrageous."

And guess who Frampton's daddy is in the same law firm with? David Boies! Wonder if the Times will do a web of connections chart about that!

I am thinking there's a good chance hell will freeze over before the Times ever links any member of the DNC mob to the DNC or Kerry. They are anti-Bush protesters, not pro-Kerry protesters. Funny how the swift vets who are anti-Kerry are pro-Bush though. Typical media double standard.

Golan is on full scholarship to MIT and a research assistant at the Program for Human Rights and Justice at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. His course of study involves Global Trade and International Development, issues at the heart of the debate around the controversial FTAA meetings.

I live in nyc and have a lot of patience for protest and rarely get worked up about the news, but the reaction of the NYCLU to this really pisses me off as does the agitation of all these has-been woodstockers in the neighborhood, desparate to regain any shred of relevence. I hope Tom Hayden is happy now.

Yep. And Frampton's father is a former Clinton-Gore official, too!

I knew this was Medea without even reading it. It just sounded like something that IDIOT would do. I wonder if "a friend of a friend's" floor pass was a MEDIA person?

Medea Benjamin, 51, of the peace group Code Pink, said she unveiled a banner near Cheney that read "Be Pro Life, Stop the Killing in Iraq" last night.

Benjamin, of San Francisco, said she borrowed "a friend of a friend's" floor pass to gain access to the Garden.

She said the veep forced a smile as she yelled, "Mr. Cheney, how much money did Halliburton make in Iraq?"

Dear Media,

Halliburton probably made about as much during the Clinton administraton but you will NEVER hear that from YOU or the media. They are pretty much the only company that can handle it unless you want to include the French company, Schlumberger.

Excellent point. It couldn't have been a volunteer pass, as those all have photos on them.

Yo, "Jamal":

Little known prison "fun fact": repeatedly dropping this while standing in the prison shower area absolutely ensures good luck during your stay.

It is time that Kerry call off his attack dogs. This is sickening.

Ambrose, that statement alone is worth it's own post, and a thousand Emails to Rush, Hannity and O'Biased himself.

The video of this attack was reminiscent of the attack on Reginald Denny.

It's time for Kuby to be moved over to WBAI.

The only alternative to Haliburton is Schlumberger, a french company. So it's no wonder they'd rather not have Haliburton.

I wonder how Mr. Golan felt after 15 of his countrymen were brutally slaughtered in a terrorist attack yesterday.

Hahaha! This "guy" must really be something else. Major Garrett, an eye-witness to the Cheney episode last night, described him as a 5'2" WOMAN who was shouting about how much money Cheney had made from the war. Gee, I sure hope the guys in the cell-block don't think he's a woman too...
And I heard that they get fined $15 for public disturbance or something like that. That is ridiculous if true. They should have to pay fines comensurate with the cost of all that security that NYC has had to pay this week, and they ought to have a felony arrest on their record as well that may bother future employers. After all, these 30 yr. old graduate students should have to face the real world one of these days.
