Two children who love their dad and tried to help. Not sophisticated, not funny but very sweet. To stand up in front of millions takes guts and a lot of love.
At least they didn't wear a dresses showing their breasts. Talk about cringing!
hamsterhalliburton .. ;-\
I really don't understand they were very eloquent...is there something I am missing here?
If polls were decided on how well the family spoke, Kerry's poll numbers would have plummeted after Teresa's speech.
Is it bad for me to imagine the Bush daughter's making a "Lance Sandwich"?
Ye see...reading this, it's funny!
It's ALL in the delivery.
I thought Laura's speech was brilliantly written. I thought she was wooden in the delivery.
If the leftist media jumps on them like Mort Kondraky (SP?) did, it will back fire on them. As a father who raised a girl who is now 28 years old with two boys of her own, that is how 21 year old girls act. If the Dems try to trash them it will backfire big time.
I don't know. I thought they were cute but I felt uncomfortable . It seemed to me that Barbara Bush got a funny look on her face just for a second too.
You need to lighten up...these girls are just children.
They did exceedingly well given there circumstance.
Who vetts that stuff?
The Ghost of Nixon ;-)
Where the heck is Barney ?
He needs to be there for the big event..
Who wrote this nonsense? It's not supposed to be a junior high skit. I guess it's not a big deal, but you'd think the young ladies would want to be thought of as ADULTS.
Who wrote that crap?
"I had them on 'mute'"
Wish I had. I had to leave.
Actually, it reads OK... much better than the way they delivered it.
But in all honesty, no one is going to base a decision on this. It doesn't really matter.
Kids do say the darndest things, but other than some joking on the mornings talk shows talk shows what will be remembered is Arnold's speeech, and that of Laura Bush.
They did sound more like high school than college.
The text isn't really too bad. They just delivered quite poorly on their jokes. No one is going to care except the political junkies here and the people on DU who think that President Bush is Satan his Jenna and Barbara and the spawn of the Evil One.
Relax, no big deal. The faculty at U of Texas were probably feeling a bit overpaid, however.
