This is the thread for Day Two of the RNC Convention.
Does brokejaw think that Republicans don't have sex nor joke about it? What an idiot.
Here's what I thought of the Bush twins: they were kids before a huge audience, and they were nervous and giggly because of it. I've seen grown men and women accept or present Academy awards and behave in a similar manner (and they were actors).
The jokes sort of reminded me of some of the times the President has spoken at one of those Press Corp dinners. Same type of humor, a little irreverent and sometimes lame.
The joke about the hamster was good. I don't think they added a thing to the night, but I think pundits who criticize a couple kids for telling lame jokes and being giggly need to "get a life."
It will have absolutely no effect on the election!
Newt Gingrich very persuasive in defending, extolling the diversity of opinion among Pub speakers. Compares it to DNC ban on any pro-life speakers. Very good. Give em hell Newt.
I just watched my recording (second time) of the girls, and they were vibrant, beautiful, trendy, a bit awkward, and 100% natural American kids! Millions of parents saw their own children up on that stage tonight.
I with you, not depressed here... just impressed! :-)

Either some of these people led some pretty dull lives or have short memories and don't remember what it was like to be in their early 20's. Hope my kids take me out and shoot me if I ever sound like some of these people! Stuffed shirts if you ask me.
Greta's having "the panel" on next. Ooo, I hope Susan Estrich is on - I want to see her her eyes bug out. That woman is going to need a straitjacket by the end of the week.
For some reason i like Newt a lot better now, then when he was speaker.
I was watching Arnie et al on the satellite TV in another room.....just never made it to this thread!
But thanks for thinking of me!
Aren't I allowed to express my displeasure with the twin's performance tonight or is it valid only if I agree with you and post 30 positive posts to 1 negative post? In my opinion, they did a diservice to themselves and our cause. It's not going to sway the election one way or the other.
I am very disappointed in them. I think they are precious young ladies. I wish they would have presented themselves in a more serious, mature manner. I'm glad they love their Dad but do they also love their country and realize this is a very serious election? I have two daughters as well and they know how important this election is. There is a time and place for humor and they went overboard in that realm on national TV.
bttt
I would pay real money to see a few of our fellow Freepers get up on a stage in front of the largest audience they've ever seen in their lives, AFTER a stemwinder of a speech by arguably the most interesting politician of our time, and do one-tenth as well as those girls did.
Okay. Divorce Laura and write the Twins out of the WILL! LMAO. Let's dump Cheney too, ambrose. You, and the other ... oh I mean ...The ... leftist pundits didn't like him either, if I do recall.
Well said.
Exactly! You can't get some "boneheads" to see that though.
LLS
I will throw in some money to see that as well! Very good point!
Listen for Hannity to get on board.
She's married to Alan Greenspan.
I wonder if he will sing "All the gold in California is in the middle of a bank in Beverly Hills with Arnonator's name"?
Anybody hear what Chris Matthews just said about the speeches tonight?
