My thoughts exactly and some of these stuffed shirts on here cannot seem to fathom that fact. In fact someone a few posts back from you was downright mean. Where do these people come from -- don't recognize the screen names at all but they sure are nasty!

I think she said "If we have a President Kerry...."

and yes, it was a jarring sound!

Actually, politics and religion are the classic bar "bad topics".

I thought it was "sex", "religion", and "politics". And the holes-in-the-wall around here seem to have gotten past the first one ;)

When I'm working, "the first one" seems to be the major topic. >:)

I think you need to learn a little more about keeping your nasty comments to yourself. Please, quit the name-calling of the Bush daughters.

I don't think it is an example of "griping" to expect a Yale graduate and a University of Texas graduate to be articulate. I don't think it's smart for the daughters of a president, who are out on the campaign trail, to stand before the convention and state they are apolitical. I'd appreciate a little more depth, and I don't think that's unreasonable -- I'd have expected the communications people to put them on front and center if they could handle it. It'd be one thing if they were 17. They aren't. Hamsters aside.

I agree with you. I was very disappointed in the twins. I wanted them to appear classy like their Mom and respectful of their Father. It was not an appropriate venue for them to try to be funny. The election is serious business and they wasted prime time not furthering our cause whatsoever. They are not "kids". They are old enough to realize what is at stake in this election.

Don't you think that some of the folks in this great nation need to see what a family really looks like? Some young people have no idea what a family should look or act like. I think the twins can reach some of these young people. Maybe they don't act as we would like but I would bet they are a ton of fun to be around. I am really glad that they did not come across as polished politicians.

The Bush twins just might be responsible for getting more young voters to the polls.

Nah. As another poster said: forgotten by Thursday. There are 4 speeches in every convention: The president, the vice president, the featured speaker (Arnold) and the surprise speaker (Steele). Unless there's a huge gaffe, that's all people remember. And by "people", I mean "political junkies".

We must remember Steele, a real nice surprise, powerful speaker...Arnie was terrific, the girls are cute, Laura makes me proud and Tommy Franks gave Bush a powerful endorsement tonight on Hannity!

Anything that doesn't advance the ball is AWFUL for us in the three brief hours we have to talk to the whole country this week.

My 13 yo daughter is exploring a career in the military. Currently encouraging her to pursue a medical education of some sort before enlisting. But, I have no problem with it otherwise, except my belief that she should not be on the front lines.

Therefore, the order was right.

Exactly. If she had been first, the networks would have talked about something ELSE until he came on.
