PT Boat Veterans for Truth

If John F. Kennedy had lied about his service on PT boats, I'm sure a group of PT Boat Veterans would have vocally opposed his presidential bid - and he probably would have lost. So it should be no surprise to JFK-wannabe John F. Kerry that the men who know him best have emerged to oppose his presidency. And history will probably show their courage in telling the truth about Kerry to be a large factor when he loses this election.

The Democrat Party Line today is, "Who cares what happened 30 years ago? Who cares about John Kerry's service in Viet Nam or Bush's service in the National Guard?" Excuse me, Liberals. YOU were the ones who raised both subjects. And now your underhanded tactics are backfiring on you

Actually you should read a good bio of Kennedy. The military wanted to cashier him both for his activities with Inga Binga (I forget her real name) and for the loss of his PT boat. In the first case his father intervened and got him transfered from Naval Intelligence to the PT Boat. When the 109 went down they wanted to court martial him but the spin machine that created the legend of PT109 made him a hero and impossible to court martial. PT109 went down not on a foggy night but during daylight with Kennedy and the men below sleeping. It's the first and only PT Boat to be rammed by a destroyer. See Thomas Reeves book A question of Character: A Life of John F. Kennedy as well as Hersh's book the Dark Side of Camelot and another bio who's title and author I don't remember.

When I was a kid and talking school social studies with my Dad I remember that I was shocked when he said he couldn't stand ANY of the Kennedys. I said - even JFK? He said yes. (He was a WWII navy vet). I didn't say anything, but remember thinking "How could anyone NOT like JFK? He was assassinated and everything."

You'll have to register with the US Naval Institute to read:

BUMP and thanks for posting this info. I couldn't remember where I had read about it.

I have been thinking that there are more parallels than even sKerry will admit to.

The Proceedings of the Naval Institute article that someone provided a link to above is excellent and puts it at night not during the day. I will have to take a look at those books I mentioned to see if they are footnoted and then try to find the original references. The Proceedings is a very reputable source. I've subscribed for years and am an on line member.
